Obamacare Is Saved Again – Next up – Crony Corporatism

by: the Common Constitutionalist

The ruling is in and the debates have begun. It’s a great day for the left. It’s a great day for both parties. Democrats got what they wanted and Republicans now do not have to legislate. It’s a win-win.

But at least some on the right aren’t happy. Judge Andrew Napolitano’s reaction on Fox News  was stunned amazement. “What [Roberts] did was to suggest that plain, ordinary English words, which are not ambiguous in their meaning, somehow to six of the justices in the majority are ambiguous and therefore they can interpret them however they want,” said Napolitano.

“If they had followed the law, this would’ve been a very simple case. The language in the statute was very clear – and if they had interpreted the language the way it was written, the government would have lost,” said Heritage Foundations  Hans von Spakovsky.

Twila Brase of the Citizens Council for Health Freedom said that “Without the rule of law, it becomes the rule of power – all up to interpretation. Claims of intent and outside interpretations of intent will now rule, not the actual words written in the law. When we start allowing the loose interpretation of law based on after-the-fact claims of intent, the foundation of the rule of law crumbles.”

There are many more losers than winners that will come from this decision. Obviously we conservatives, who have been warning of the pitfalls lost. The American people are huge losers as they will see care decline and prices skyrocket. The rule of law lost and certainly the Constitution. We voters also lost, for its apparent that no other branch of government will stand up and challenge the black robed oligarchs. read more

Obamacare “See We Told You So”

by: the Common Constitutionalist

The sign up for Obamacare is going so well it appears that insurance companies will need a bailout. And as bad as the sign up numbers are, the number of “customers” that have actually paid for the program is likely a fraction of the paltry sign up numbers.

The administration either doesn’t know or will not say how many have not just signed up, but actually bought in to the program.

It seems the only “customers” that Obamacare is attracting are the old, sick and dying. Obviously, as many have stated, the president’s program must be flush with younger healthier “customers” in order to be viable. Without those young healthy “customers” to underwrite the unhealthy, the program cannot pay for itself (not that it could anyway) and thus will require a bailout.

But Mitch McConnell said Obamacare would likely sink under its own weight as the realities of the law become more clear.

And there’s the “See We Told You So”! Obamacare will never “collapse” under its own weight as the spineless establishment Republicans said it would. It was never going to. It’s the law, after all. The Republicans knew it and they lied about it to everyone because the leadership are scared little girlie man that can’t or won’t take the fight to the Democrats and our dictator in chief. read more

The Chicago Mob Goes to Washington

by: the Common Constitutionalist

It’s like a bad TV movie of the week – insurance companies fear Obama administration retribution if they speak out against “the Unaffordable Care Act”.

Yes, Drew Griffin of CNN (yes, CNN) revealed that insurance executives are being told to keep quiet. To not contradict the president’s statement of blah blah – keep your plan, blah blah – keep your doctor, etc.

Griffin said executives were told that if they speak out they will get a call from the White House. Is this surreal or what?

Well, not to those of us who know and have known who this president is and the enforcers he has working for him. My guess is that this directive did not come from Obama but from our shadow president, Valerie Jarrett. read more

The Obamacare Endgame

by: the Common Constitutionalist

For obvious reasons, everyone is discussing the rollout of the president’s pride and joy, Obamacare. We are all well aware of what a disaster it  has been thus far. The “glitches” in the system causing exchange websites to crash, so that the individuals that must have insurance can’t obtain it.

Then Obama blindly advises us to call an 800 number if we can’t access the site, only to be told, assuming one is able to actually speak to a human, that you must first register on the website. Way to go Prez!

We’ve learned that in order for Obamacare to even function, the scheme needs a minimum of 7 million enrollees, although like every other government estimate, it will probably end up needing 10 the 14 million.

Now weeks into this debacle, we’ve learned of the pitiful sign up numbers – states like South Dakota with just 20 people thus far.

Meanwhile, people by the hundreds of thousands if not millions are being jettisoned from their current insurance policies.

Now, we all remember these words. In July 2009, Obama exclaimed in his typically condescending staccato voice: “Let me be exactly clear about what health care reform means to you. First of all, if you’ve got health insurance, you like your doctors, you like your plan, you can keep your doctor, you can keep your plan. Nobody is talking about taking that away from you.”

True, they just won’t talk about it as it is being taken away.

Now, we’ve all heard the saying, “sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good”. Well, I think we may be witnessing this firsthand.

At this point, I believe the administration knows that Obamacare is safe. It won’t be repealed or defunded. The Republicans are just too cowardly. read more
