Is It Fight or Flight for Obama?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Late last week Karen Tumulty and Juliet Eilperin at the Washington Post wrote a column entitled “Will Obama fade or fight as Republicans gain control of Congress?”

They wrote that when his [Obama’s] “party got walloped last week in the midterm election an unbowed president Obama declared that he would ‘squeeze every last bit of opportunity’ to push his agenda in the waning years of his presidency. In the past few days, he has shown that he meant it.” Yes, the only ones he bows to our sheikhs and dictators.

My first question to the ladies is to name one time when he hasn’t squeezed “every last bit of opportunity” out of his mostly unlawful and unconstitutional agenda?

An aside: I don’t know where my head is at. I apologize for my “ladies” reference, them writing for the WaPo. That was insensitive and assumptive. It’s quite possible one or the other, or both, are transgendered, transsexual, gender bending or questioning.

Anyway, they go on to list, in no particular order, all the “opportunities” Obama must still squeeze out. Sorry for the sphincter reference, but if the shoe fits, so to speak. read more

California’s Illegal Drivers

from FOX 40 California:

California Division of Motor Vehicles is preparing for roughly 1.4 million new driver’s license applicants after Jan. 1.

That’s when Assembly Bill 60, or the Safe and Responsible Drivers Act, goes into effect.

FOX40 spoke with a Maria Rodriguez, an undocumented immigrant living in West Sacramento who plans to apply for a license under the new law.

“It’s the best thing that could have happened to us in California.  We’ve been waiting for it for many, many years,” Rodriguez said. read more

Latino Ingrate or Shrewd El Politico

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Perusing the inter-web, I found an article that intrigued me. The man who wrote it, or the editor, or someone entitled it properly, causing me to click on it and read.

The article is, “Latinos Should Withhold Support From Democrats“, posted by Arturo Carmona at Real Clear Politics. Mr. Carmona is executive director of Presidente Action.

Well, it turns out, this post wasn’t “Real Clear” at all. I was going in expecting to read about “Latinos” seeing the light and voting conservative, or at least Republican, and although it kind of reads that way, I’ll guarantee that’s not his motivation.

Mr. Carmona is angry because Obama and the Democrats haven’t done enough for them, and by them, of course I mean the millions of criminal aliens.

Yes, Mr. Carmona claims that Obama has betrayed him and his lawbreaking “people”. He writes: “For months, president Obama promised that he – and the rest of the nation – were done with Republican obstructionism on immigration reform. On March 14, he indicated he would instruct Homeland Security secretary Jeh Johnson to produce recommendations for executive actions to bring relief to millions of immigrant families suffering in the shadows.”

Republican obstructionism? Really? So now, in 2014, current immigration law is considered obstructionism. And there are no recommendations to make. What Johnson suggests or suggested and whatever Obama does will be both illegal and anticonstitutional. But to Obama, it’s only illegal if you can stop them. read more

Maybe Now You Will Close the Border Mr. President

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Who’d have figured that the modern day plague (potentially) may be the cure for illegal immigration?

For years conservatives have struggled against the left and the Chamber of Commerce prostitutes, the establishment Republicans, to stop or at least stem the tide of illegals – to close the border.

No matter what the argument for closing the border, there were always politicians and interest groups standing in the way, trying to tell us what a great deal it will be – what a boon to our economy.

Pleas of stopping drug cartels, gangs and terrorists fall on deaf ears. Nothing can stop the flood.

But now we’re faced with an enemy we can’t see – an enemy we can’t arrest, detain or deport.

Despite the government and their dimwitted accomplices in the media, Ebola is for real and it’s already here. It may be isolated – it may not. read more

La Raza Makes Demand of Obama

from Breitbart:

On Friday, La Raza President and CEO Janet Murguia demanded that President Barack Obama give executive amnesty and work permits to as many as eight million illegal immigrants afterreports surfaced that Senate Democrats are urging Obama not to unilaterally change the country’s immigration laws before the midterm elections.

Appearing on MSNBC’s Jose Diaz-Balart, Murguia said Obama and Republicans have told illegal immigrants in the past to wait for Congress to act on legislation before complaining that, “and now, there’s some Senate Democrats who are asking us to wait again.”  read more

Illegals Burden Economy & Threaten Beliefs/Customs

from Breitbart:

An overwhelming majority of Americans believe that illegal immigration threatens the country’s “beliefs and customs” while also placing a burden on the economy.

A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll found that 70% of Americans, including 86% of Republicans, believe illegal immigrants “threaten traditional U.S. beliefs and customs,” while 63% believe that “immigrants place a burden on the economy.”

According to Reuters, “the findings suggest immigration could join Obamacare – the healthcare insurance overhaul – and the economy as hot button issues that encourage more Republicans to vote in November’s congressional election.” read more

Ebola Outbreak – But Don’t Worry – We’re Safe

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I don’t follow this stuff, but I believe the number one television show in America is called “The Last Ship”. I’ve been watching it. It has some intrigue and is fairly entertaining. It has a Navy ship, although only one – thus the name “The Last Ship”, guns, missiles and Ruskies. What else do you need?

It also has disease. Yes, the program is centered around a worldwide pandemic – a virus that has wiped out most of the world’s population.

This U.S. ship travels the seven seas, or will eventually I assume, searching for a cure, a vaccine for the virus, which is so deadly that if contracted, has a 100% mortality rate.

Now, is it life that imitates art or art that imitates life? I think it’s the latter and in our current, real life condition, it most certainly is. What a coincidence that this show is airing at the very same time the world is locked in a battle to contain the deadly African Ebola virus.

It is an odd coincidence, but a coincidence nonetheless. Thankfully, there is no conspiracy attached to this outbreak. read more

Another Conservative Sellout?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I’ve written extensively, as have many others, about the southern border and the illegal alien invasion. It’s one of my “make or break” issues – one issue over which a candidate for any office will immediately lose both my support and my vote.

The lawlessness at the border is indeed unprecedented, and that’s not hyperbole. It is in fact unprecedented. We’ve seen nothing at all like this since our founding.

However, George Will believes it not to be, and this wouldn’t be the first time he has taken the establishment position on immigration. I wrote about it last year. You may review it here.

He told Fox’s Chris Wallace that we should just let them in. “We are to say to these children, ‘Welcome to America, you’re going to go to school and get a job and become Americans’. We have 3141 counties in this country. That would be 20 per county. The idea that we can’t assimilate these eight-year-old criminals with their teddy bears is preposterous.”

Well Mr. Will – whether we “have more than enough space to accommodate the children” or not, is immaterial. I’m sure, Mr. Will, you have more than enough furniture in your home for me to take a chair or two. There are laws governing immigration – or at least there used to be – just as there are laws prohibiting me from taking your furniture.

Your argument sounds a lot like “from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs”. That sounds a bit Karl Marx-ish or Loius Blanc-ish, if you will. read more

All For the Love of (Illegal) Family

by: the Common Constitutionalist

The following quotes are from a CNN. Com article regarding the journey of an illegal alien mother and her 14 year old son, Jesús, from Guatemala, coming to America to reunite with the boys father, who lives in Mississippi.

It is written for one reason – to tug on the heartstrings of brainless Americans – the kind that read this clap-trap. Yeah, I know – What does that make me.

From Catherine E. Shoichet at CNN.com:

“It is a powerful need: to see the man who shaped your life from afar for almost 13 years. For 14-year-old Jesús and his mother, it was enough to propel them on a dangerous and illegal journey. They made it to America.”

“…cloaked in predawn darkness, they climbed a ladder and scaled a 15-foot-high steel fence to cross into the United States. Border Patrol agents caught them within minutes. After one night in detention, they were released on this morning in late June and dropped off at the bus station…”

“Now that they’ve made it this far, Jesús has no doubt that the moment he’s dreamed of his whole life is near. He is finally going to see someone he’s long looked up to but never stood beside.”

“Voy a conocer a mi papa,” Jesús says. “I am going to meet my father.”

The love story continues, describing the long journey. You see, the two just wish to reunite their family. It’s a tale of love conquering all – even U.S. law.

There is a video that accompanies the article, chronicling their journey.

Here is what the video reveals that the article omits: This kid’s father left them and snuck into the U.S. in 2001. That would make Jesús little more than 1 when the father left. By all accounts, he never went back. The kid says he misses his dad, but how can you miss someone you’ve never met? read more

An Obama-Caused Border Disaster

from National Review:

It is a grave error to view the swarming of illegal aliens across our southern border as anything other than a challenge to our sovereignty — a challenge abetted, rather than repulsed, by a president who vows to “fundamentally transform the United States of America.” The challenge brings into sharp relief a question I’ve repeatedly pressed (see, e.g., herehere,here, and here): If the states cannot or will not defend themselves, are they still, in any real sense, sovereign?

As expected, the president’s mainstream-media allies portray Obama as a man struggling to manage a crisis beyond his control, a crisis their thin and exhausted playbook instructs them to blame on George W. Bush. Nonsense.

In Faithless Execution, I detail Obama’s immigration lawlessness — at least the very extensive record compiled as of mid-spring 2014, when I had to stop writing in order to make an early June publication date. If you’re keeping track, mid-spring was before the ramping up of the ongoing invasion, which already involves close to 300,000 illegal aliens (less than 20 percent of whom are, according to theNew York Times, “unaccompanied minors”). It was, however, months after what we now know was the Obama “Homeland Security” Department’s solicitation of escort services to help handle an anticipated arrival of 65,000 illegal-alien minors. read more
