Big Government Will Lower Our Drug Prices!!

Isn’t it funny (not funny ha ha) that our government is the only one who is never to blame for price increases or shortages of any kind. It’s always Big Oil, the military industrial complex, etc. Or in this case, evil Big Pharma. We can’t name one industry that doesn’t get blamed for these occurrences (except of course, Big Education), yet the government, with its penchant for artificially picking winners and losers, escapes all scrutiny. We’re about to see it happen again. And when it has the opposite effect, we’ll all be instructed to once again blame “Big Pharma.”

“Cold” Medicine: Canadian Drug Imports Will Cost Americans

The solution to drug prices is ending freeriding, not buying Canadian

In the hopes of lowering the cost of prescription drugs for Americans, the Trump Administration announced plans in late July to draft a proposal for the importation and sale of prescription drugs from Canada. The announcement was overshadowed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s drug pricing bill and the bipartisan package before the Senate in September—but is a cause for concern, nonetheless. A dozen statesCongress—even the Trump Administration, despite initial opposition—are now considering such legislation.

If “buy-Canadian” doesn’t sound like a policy consistent with Trump’s platform of putting Americans first, that’s because it isn’t. Importing drugs from Canada is an ineffectual and counterproductive policy. President Trump had it right the first time. The prohibitive drug prices that Americans deal with are not solely caused by pharmaceutical companies; they are primarily the product of a failure of government policy.

Instead of artificial fixes, the Trump Administration should directly address the global freeloading and regulatory glut that’s costing Americans—both in dollars and lives. read more

Warren may be Giving Trump a Means to Increase his Minority Support

from Human Events:

Elizabeth Warren and the Democrats Choose Teacher Unions over Black Families

Republicans can win over black voters by supporting charter schools

Recently, Democratic presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren unveiled her plan to revitalize America’s K-12 education system. The problem? Her proposal replicates the exact policy model that precipitated American education’s historical decline.

It begins pretty simply: boost local education by funneling billions of dollars of funding from the federal level to states. The added kicker, however, is that Warren proposes to eliminate the Federal Charter School Program—a program created to incentivize new charter schools and support high-performance schools already in existence.

Warren’s proposal reflects the ever-widening disconnect between the Democratic Party and its crucial African American voting base. The data is irrefutable: black voters have consistently shown support for alternatives to public schools for over the past two decades. And this makes sense, given how failing public schools disproportionately affect minority communities. read more

Another Corporation Bows to Its Chinese Master

Kowtowing to China, Blizzard Style

Corporate wokeness is a sham that collapses in the face of actual tyranny

“Every voice matters,” according to Activision-Blizzard; that is, unless you use that voice to show support for Hong Kong.

Hong Kong-based professional video game player Chung “Blitzchung” Ng Wai learned this the hard way when he said the words, “Liberate Hong Kong, revolution of our times” following his win at the Hearthstone Grandmasters tournament in Taiwan. Blizzard banned him in response.

Chung was quickly silenced. Activision-Blizzard, the publisher of HearthstoneOverwatch, and Call of Duty, cut off the interview and scrubbed the recording. The company fired both of the casters responsible for interviewing Chung, rescinded his prize money, and banned him from the professional circuit for a year. read more

Conservatives – Tow the Line or Risk it All

The Invisible Shackles of America’s Social Credit System.

China’s social credit system is coming to America, but Big Tech is enforcing it.

The phrase “social credit system” or “social credit score” is relatively unknown to Americans. But in the People’s Republic of China, the communist government has been developing such a system for the last decade, and are looking to roll it out nationwide by 2020.

The Chinese government intends to use social media data, surveillance, and purchasing trends to develop a “score” for its citizens to gauge their “buy-in” to the state. Presumably, the better the score, the more “benefits” citizens are entitled to receive from the government. Conversely, a bad score would severely handicap your life, punishing you for your socially maladaptive behavior, either real or perceived. read more

If You Criticize the Media, You’ll be Told to Leave

from Huma Events:

That Time The Media Told Solzhenitsyn To Love It Or Leave It.

Last week, President Trump suggested that a few particularly acerbic critics of his immigration policies should pack up and leave. For that, he was branded a racist.

What’s really going on here?

“The press has become the greatest power within the Western countries, more powerful than the legislature, the executive and the judiciary. One would then like to ask: by what law has it been elected and to whom is it responsible?”

In 1978, the great Russian writer Alexander Solzhenitsyn was invited to give the commencement address at Harvard University.

In his speech, the exiled dissident harshly criticized Western news reporting for endorsing “fashionable trends of thought and ideas” while suppressing “independent-minded people from giving their contribution to public life.” read more

Newsflash: Now Dodgeball is a Form of Oppression.

from Human Events:

Dodgeball is ‘an Unethical Tool of Oppression’, Say Academics

This week, three education theorists will present the premise that dodgeball is “miseducative” and teaches athletic privilege to the Canadian Society for the Study of Education at the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences in Vancouver, Canada.

The left’s most recent addition to the list of things they find oppressive is: dodgeball.

Yes, the game you played in gym class when you were twelve.

The National Post released an article earlier today by Joseph Brean explaining how “dodgeball isn’t just an unethical tool, it’s a form of oppression.” read more

Greenies on the Run

Three Cheers for James Inhofe, an American hero. Thanks to spearheads like Inhofe, could it be that we may actually be able to beat back these Enviro-Fools?
It appears we’re making progress.

The following video is from December, 2011. It is quite funny to watch these desperate Green Movement pin heads as they throw out their talking points & slogans. The newest one is “Climate Justice”. They’ve even folded in the old 99 vs. the evil 1%. Listen carefully. No facts or evidence, just slogans.

Next we have a short article by John Gizzi at Human Events entitled: Inhofe unveils “the greatest hoax” of climate control from Friday:

After years in the wilderness decrying the scientific argument for climate control (formerly known as climate control), Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) is finding that the tide is turning to his point of view–that climate control is little more than a hoax, and one perpetrated on the world for many years.

In an interview HUMAN EVENTS at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, the ranking Republican on the Senate Environment Committee unveiled his new book, “The Greatest Hoax,” about the lack of truth in the case for climate control.

“Yes, we’re finding that the tide is turning,” Inhofe told us, citing “Climate Gate–the 2010 revelation that much of the evidence produced by scientists to support climate change on earth had been confabulated and was untrue. The Oklahoman said that since the revelation, people who formerly assumed climate change existed have come over to his point of view.

“And much of the international community feels the way [I] do,” said Inhofe, In just the last few weeks, the environment minister in Canada has come out against international agreements on the agreement. Other countries have followed suit.

For Inhofe, the publication of “The Greatest Hoax” puts into print what he has argued against the tide for a long time. Like the author, the book will in arguably be controversial.

And from Tulsa World News:  Ralph Nader has dropped out of efforts to schedule a global-warming debate between U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe and a House Democrat, the Tulsa World learned Thursday.

Katherine Raymond, an assistant to the veteran activist, said Nader is leaving the organization of a debate to Inhofe and Rep. Ed Markey, D-Mass.

“Ralph won’t be doing anything further on this, it appears,” Raymond said.

Several weeks ago, Nader issued his debate challenge to Inhofe after the Oklahoma Republican declared victory on the years-long global warming controversy.

Inhofe, who once declared global warming a scientific hoax, quickly accepted Nader’s challenge.

Not much has happened since then.

It was unclear what impact Nader’s decision will have on whether a debate will occur.
