Global Warming…Not

We’re Still Being Screwed Even Though ‘Global Warming’ Stopped 15 Years Ago

The chart below is what global warming looks like folks. Non-existent for the last 15+ years. Zero. Nada. Zilch. (Before that, in the ’70′s, it was all about the “Coming Ice Age” and where did that go?) All the while the developing world has been cranking up carbon use for manufacturing.

And in the meantime? We have energy starvation policies stuffed down our throats. And a President, in the debate, going on and on about “Green Jobs,” which are either non-existent also…or are causing bankruptcy eruptions all over the place. Not to mention the dire straights he is putting people in with regard to the energy they need to survive.

Excuse the unladylike word in my title, but the entire Al Gorebasm insanity is causing nothing but draconian, opportunistic, tyrannical thievery and controls over our very daily lives to the point of stark raving global madness.

You have been sold down the proverbial river. Sent over the cliff. Robbed blind. And screwed…totally. Americans are supposed to be smarter than this. I want to believe Americans are smarter than this. But every day, in America, bureaucrats, planners, non-profits, corporations, and politicians are spending their time, and energy, and your money, to capture you…not carbon, but you…..into their schemes of control. None of that has one whit to do with some conjured up fiction that you are causing the global temperatures to rise. You aren’t. You never did. But they won’t let a little thing like the truth stop them from their central control of your energy use.

Some food for thought:

“Industries are already leaving Germany, and more will soon follow. The loss of energy and jobs will damage the German economy almost as much as the exploding cost of new infrastructure required to deal with the intermittent unreliables. And the cost — THE COST!!! Hundreds of thousands of lower class workers in Germany already cannot afford to pay their skyrocketing power bills. That number will only grow larger.”

From the Telegraph – UK

“The shift to renewable energy is also taking a toll on family budgets. On Monday Germany’s electrical grid operators announced that a special tax levied on consumers to finance subsidies for green energy would increase by almost 50 per cent.”

The EU is going straight down the road to serfdom….again, I might add. (Note Spain’s 17%+ unemployment after converting to a “Green” economy. Throw in a little Greece, Italy, and the rest…and what do you have?) How many times in history have European nations been sucked into the central planning models of either Monarchs or Dictators. I thought we fought and won a revolution to get out of that mold of ignorance.

Townhall Finance asks,

“Remember last summer- and the summer before that, and the summer before that- when droughts and tornadoes were pinned to global warming by a compliant media? Or when we were told that 100 million people would die in the next twenty minutes, or twenty years- is there really a difference?- because of global warming? And that of course women and children would bear the brunt of those deaths? Or last year when we were told about the wave of Polar Bear cannibals terrorizing the animal kingdom in the great white north?”

Too bad Candy Crowley never got to the Global Warming issue in the debate. Too bad….
If Romney and Ryan have the facts on this, we might be saved from the economic devastation that Europe is facing right now. God bless them both.

We’re Just Not Acting Right

EPA wants a “Way of Life Act” to control us even more

by: Julie Szydlowski

Despite the extensive regulations placed on Americans through the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts and other directives, zealots at the Environmental Protection Agency say existing rules are not enough to control individual behavior – and controlling individual behavior is what they long to do.

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) recently released a video montage of Obama EPA Regional Administrators revealing their hopes of imposing a green “Way Of Life Act” on Americans enforced through the regulatory dictatorship of the EPA.

President Obama-appointed EPA Regional Administrator Al Armendariz is heard saying on the video that the EPA should “crucify” and “make an example” of the oil and coal industries — which is eerily in keeping with Obama’s promise to bankrupt coal companies.

To be precise, Armendariz put his “philosophy of enforcement” of a green way of life regarding oil & coal companies this way: “It was kind of like how the Romans used to conquer little villages in the Mediterranean. They’d go into a little Turkish town somewhere, they’d find the first five guys they saw and they would crucify them. And then you know that town was really easy to manage for the next few years.”

Armendariz went on to say, “I don’t have a Way of Life Act that I can enforce – I’ve got a Clean Air Act, I’ve got a Clean Water Act, a Safe Drinking Water Act that can be used to enforce green ideals.” But having an official Act on how people actually live their lives would be so much more convenient.

Armendariz subsequently resigned under fire for his comments, but he wasn’t alone in his intent to control our way of life. Also appearing on the video is EPA Region 2 Administrator Judith Enck, who tries to justify a “Way of Life Act” because, “I don’t think individual change is going to be enough.”

But it’s not just these two people we need to fear, Sen. Inhofe’s office warns. “The purpose of this video is to get to know President Obama’s ‘green generals’ – the regional administrators – who are going into battle for the Obama-EPA, working hard to force a green ‘way of life act’ in regions across the United States.”

It’s frightening to imagine what type of controls they envision placing on us under such an Act. It’s bad enough that environmentalists are indoctrinating children into a green way of thinking; to the extent of having them monitor their own parents to point out where they’re failing to live “green.” Now agents of the government want to regulate our behavior officially and have another excuse to raise taxes on our use of energy.

The question is, what makes these environmentalists’ values more important than an individual’s right to live as he chooses? At what point will the government, under the guise and legal backing of a green Way of Life Act or other existing Acts, begin to dictate how much water we can use in a given day, or how long we can run our air conditioner? Especially bothersome is that unelected officials are being given extraordinary power to enforce behavior on American citizens, and they have the full support of our President.

Just like New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg’s attempt to regulate the size of soda cups we drink from, our government has no right telling us how to live our lives in our own private pursuit of life, liberty and happiness. Too bad those values are all but forgotten by this leftist government gone wild. Hopefully this Way of Life Act remains nothing more than a pipe-dream.

Collecting “Green Jobs”

A recent Bureau of Labor Statistics report counts 3.1 million green jobs in the U.S. economy, but the BLS defines these jobs so broadly that it includes even school bus drivers and trash collectors as “green” workers.

“Cheerleaders for the president’s program of green jobs mandates and spending point to the study as confirmation of green jobs’ economic importance,” said David W. Kreutzer, Research Fellow in Energy Economics and Climate Change in the Center for Data Analysis at The Heritage Foundation.

Kreutzer takes issue with the report as “an effort to count the number of green jobs as a way of justifying subsidies and mandates.”

“Just a little digging into the data shows that only a small fraction of the 3.1 million jobs could have been created by green subsidies and mandates.”

The BLS study defines green jobs as those “in businesses that produce goods or provide services that benefit the environment or conserve natural resources.”

Using this definition, the BLS counts 43,658 jobs in steel mills as green because the industry uses scrap steel and can be classified as an active recycler.

Similarly, 27 percent of all paper mill jobs, 30,473, are counted as green because mills use recycled paper.

Steel and paper mill jobs “do not fit in with the rhetoric of the new, clean economy that green jobs proponents use to justify expensive green policies — the sort of policies that brought the Solyndra debacle,” Kreutzer writes in the Heritage Foundation report.

The electric power generation industry is said to have 44,152 green jobs, but only 4,700 are in renewable power generation.

The nuclear power industry has 35,755 green jobs, according to the BLS, but since no new plants have been built-in the past 30 years, those jobs “are clearly not the result of any green energy or green jobs programs,” Kreutzer points out.

Other jobs considered to be green by the BLS include those in used merchandise stores (106,865 jobs), waste collection (116,293), school and employee bus transportation (160,896), leisure and hospitality (22,510), office furniture sales (14,888), septic tank cleaning and portable toilet servicing (13,313), radio and television broadcasting (9,297), fruit and tree nut farming (12,176), and social advocacy organizations (20,704).

Kreutzer concludes that the BLS’s “definition and collection mechanisms raise serious questions about how green those jobs are and whether their count can be a useful measure of the importance of green jobs in America’s economy and the effectiveness of green jobs policies.”
