You don’t believe you gained your wealth on the backs of the poor.

You are not wealthy, but want to be and don’t wish to rob or scam anyone to get that way.

You don’t feel guilty about wanting to keep more of what you’ve earned.

You don’t hate or wish to punish the people who have more than you, simply because they have more.

Just Look to the Government

Changing Definitions Doesn’t Change Reality

 by: the Common Constitutionalist

I’ve decided to change the name of some words and thus their meaning. Anyone having a problem with it or tells me I can’t is a bigot, racist, homophobe, etc.

From now on, the word dog will be asteroid, because I’ve always wanted to walk an asteroid. Wow, that was easy. Let’s do another. I will change the word walk to can opener. Why? Because I want to. Ok, this is working so well, let’s do one more. Let’s change crap to Obama. Now let us use them in a sentence. “Son; make sure when you take the asteroid out for his can opener, you pick up his Obama. I like it.

But, you may say, the old words perfectly describe the act and objects quite well. They’ve been called dog, walk and crap for a long time. Everyone already knows and accepts them as their original names. It’s tradition. Why change them now? Because I want to and if you don’t let me I’ll sue to get the names changed.

Well, obviously that scenario is ridiculous, but is it anymore absurd than changing a tradition that is thousands of years old?

Of course I’m speaking of the term homosexual marriage. I believe the reason homosexuals wish to marry, is not for love, but due to the tax code. Now, don’t you your panties in a bunch. I’m not saying that two women or two men or six men and three women or five men and a penguin can’t love one another. I suppose they can and frankly it’s none of my or your damn business.

What I am saying is that marriage is a tradition reserved for the union of one man and one woman. That’s what God intended and far be it from me to countermand his desire. Men and women have been marrying for thousands of years and not until relatively recently has that marriage had to be sanctioned and interfered with by the almighty government.

I contend that without government meddling in every facet of people’s lives, this would not be an issue.

We all realize that government, through the tax code, have been picking winners and losers. Through tweaking the code they are able to grant favor to one group while disenfranchising another.

What do homosexuals really want? Is it really about the love or is it the benefits? Is it the hospital visitation rights, the transfer of wealth free of taxation or the many other government giveaways that benefit those who have married, have children, day care, own a home or the dozens of other tax breaks.

As if no one would have children, buy a home, or select the correct beneficiary for their estate without financial coercion of the state. Ridiculous!

It is my contention that homosexuals would have never made such a fuss over marriage if the government hadn’t stepped in long ago to promote what they felt was beneficial to society.

It’s like virtually everything else that is wrong with this country. Progressives in government meddle in private citizens’ affairs, attempt to legislate the perfect society and voila, we get the housing collapse, banking problems, gas prices, CAFE standards and on and on. And now we have homosexual marriage. To find the genesis of any problem this country has faced  just look back to when our federal government initially involved itself.

Civil Unions, ok, but marriage, no. That’s one tradition that should be upheld for as long as we inhabit this earth.

Sequestration and the End of the World, Continued

by: the Common Constitutionalist

The White House, the Democrats and their stenographers, the media, have really ramped up the hysteria and hyperbole regarding the March 1 sequester deadline. As for the deadline, to hear these folks whine about it, especially our president, you’d think it really was a dead-line.

sob storyI swear I’ve heard the president say, from one speech to another, that virtually every public sector employee will lose his or her job. It appears this is shaping up to be the mother of all crises. And need I remind you what they say about a good crisis. This is how wedded the government is to our tax dollars.

Now keep in mind that the following list of tragedies that is sure to befall us is only a fraction of the Armageddon this administration is predicting. All this for a lousy 2% cut spending. That’s the equivalent of a person making $50,000 per year giving up one Starbucks coffee a day.

Air travel will be disrupted due to an estimated 47,000 FAA workers being laid off. The TSA will have to let employees go. Of course that will not only cause delays but also security problems. Terrorists, realizing our sudden vulnerability will rush to the nearest airport to wreak havoc knowing the TSA is not on the job. Terrorists such as little four-year-old wheelchair-bound girls and ninety-year old grandma’s may now slip through undetected. The horror!

Hurricanes and other severe weather events will no longer be predicted due to deep cuts at NOAA. Deputy commerce secretary Rebecca M Blank states, “The government runs the risk of significantly increased forecast errors and the government’s ability to warn Americans across the country about high-impact weather events, such as hurricanes and tornadoes, will be compromised.”

Layoffs of over 36,000 at the Bureau of prisons will lead to a dangerous situation of inmate violence according to Eric Holder.pink slip

Uh Oh! Gun violence alert! FBI director Robert Mueller warned the Congress and Senate that gun background checks would be impeded, increasing the likelihood of convicted felons ending up with weapons. Because that’s how felons always get their weapons. They don’t steal them; they attempt to purchase them legally.

Now if I were this administration, what other hot button issues could I scare the general public with? Well, we all eat. How about a nationwide shutdown of meat and poultry plants. This is what agriculture secretary Vilsack is warning of. That will certainly scare the public.

What else? Illegal immigration is a concern of the right. Immigration courts, judges and interpreters will be affected leading to a flood of aliens entering our country illegally. The question is, how will we tell?

Is that it? Is that not esequester-cartoon-bensonnough to tip the scale for you? Well, there’s more. There’s always more.

HHS secretary Kathleen Sebelius claims over 370,000 mentally ill and emotionally disturbed patients will lose vital services. 125,000 additional homeless people will be left wandering the streets. 600,000 women and children will be thrown off WIC. 424,000 AIDS patients will be denied medication and housing assistance. Over 800,000 American Indians will be denied hospital care. No Headstart for 70,000 kids and no child care for another 30,000.

I could go on and on. Just realize that a paltry 2% cut and spend during will result in the total meltdown of our society, evidently.

Now the $64,000 question is, do you believe it? Do you believe the government when they describe such wanton destruction from such a small cut? Well that’s what they are banking on. That’s what progressives do. That’s all they have as motivation; fear. They bank on the ignorant public’s fear of the unknown.

But every once in a while the media will slip up and practice a random act of journalism. It doesn’t happen often but it does prove that these folks (reporters) can do their job; they just choose not to.

ABC news reporter, John Karl, was discussing the looming sequester with host George Snuffleupagus, when he let something slip. They were discussing homeland security cuts when Karl stated, “Yet, despite all the dire warnings and inability to reach an agreement, the spending cuts represent only a fraction of total federal spending. In fact, even with the cuts, the federal government will spend about $15 billion more this year than it spent last year.”spending

What? Did I hear that right? You mean to tell me that these dire warnings of world ending sequestration-spending cuts will result in a budget increase this year? Why is this the first time we are hearing of this? Well, it isn’t. I wrote about this just a few days ago. Remember; it’s called Baseline Budgeting.

So you see, once again, this hand wringing and teeth gnashing is all about nothing. Let me correct that. It’s definitely about something. The left has a lot to lose if the bogus spending cuts are allowed to happen.

The progressives cannot afford for the ignorant to discover they’ve been lied to. If the sequester “cuts” are allowed and the world doesn’t end, the public may just realize that budget cuts aren’t as tragic as they have been portrayed. This is why we see the full-court press.

After all the warnings of doom and gloom, the left knows these cuts won’t even be noticed by the majority of voters and they can’t allow their lie to be exposed. When the public realizes these cuts have little to no effect on their lives, they may actually demand more and the progressives can’t have that.

That’s what this whole production is all about. It’s as simple as that.

An American Dictator (Part Deux)

 by: the Common Constitutionalist

As I stated in Part One, Barack Obama is not our first progressive president to fancy himself a supreme ruler.

It remains to be seen if Obama will supplant all predecessors as America’s worst president. He has the potential but I believe Woodrow Wilson is still king of American fascist presidents.

During World War I Woodrow Wilson created the “Committee on Public Information (CPI)”. The wicked progressive and Wilson advisor Edward Bernays described the CPI as the “engineering of consent” and “the conscious manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses”. Wilson, in the CPI, had created America’s first official government propaganda department, designed solely to control the population and manipulate their behavior.

One example of manipulation the CPI produced was a World War I liberty Bond poster that read: “I am Public Opinion. All men fear me! If you have money to buy and do not buy, I will make this No Man’s Land for you!” Now that’s not at all creepy, is it?

The CPI trained a group of almost 100,000 men to give four-minute propaganda speeches to any audience that would listen. They extolled the greatness of government and portrayed Woodrow Wilson as a larger-than-life leader. They also produced and released many government propaganda films.

Wilson enacted his own sedition act, which forbade American citizens from criticizing their government during a time of war. The American people could not, “utter, print, write or publish any disloyal, profane, scurrilous or abusive language” regarding the government or the military.

The postmaster general was even given the authority to revoke all mailing privileges of those who disobeyed Wilson’s directive. Many publications were given warnings and the government shut down almost 75 for disloyal printings.

In the Wilson police state, citizens were not even safe in their own homes if they spoke ill of the president. Federal attorneys and US marshals publicly claimed that citizens had nothing to fear as long as they “Obeyed the law and kept their mouths shut”.

Wilson’s Justice Department created the “American Protective League (APL)”. Its purpose was to spy on the people and turn in any “seditious persons”. In 1918, in a single month, the New York City APL rounded up almost 50,000 citizens. The Gestapo had nothing on them.

In an address to Congress, Wilson exclaimed, “The gravest threats against our national peace and safety have been uttered within our borders. There are citizens of the United States, I blush to admit….who have poured the poison of disloyalty into the very arteries of our national life; have sought to bring the authority and good name of our Government into woodrow-wilson-2contempt…”. Notice Wilson spoke of the “good name” of the government, not the United States. As it always is with progressives and Statists, the government is set before all.

It is estimated that almost 175,000 citizens were arrested for seditious behavior or failure to demonstrate Wilson’s version of patriotism.

This was very similar to conquered nations during World War II, where Hitler was paraded into a sacked city and its citizens were forced to wave Nazi flags and cheer the Fuehrer, or else.

President Wilson charged another progressive, Bernard Baruch with running the “War Industries Board (WIB)”. The board was formed to assure that all American industry be in service to the State.

It is said the WIB served as a precursor to the fascist policies of both Mussolini and Hitler.

Grosvenor Clarkson, a member of the WIB, characterized it as, “An industrial dictatorship without parallel; A dictatorship by force of necessity and common consent which, step-by-step, at least encompassed the nation and united it into a coordinated and mobile unit”.

These are not the only unconstitutional transgressions of the Woodrow Wilson administration, but at least now you have an idea of just how oppressive his administration was.

My point is only to demonstrate to all that claim the Obama administration is the worst and most unconstitutional in history, don’t know their history.

I am also not saying, that given the chance, King Barack would be the most oppressive; just that as of now, he’s not even close.

Together, as we learn more of our own history, it may be easier to see the signs of oppression before we are forced to live them. And finally, disregard, as I have, those nayayers that insist these types of things could “Never happen in America”, for we know they already have.

Scrap the Constitution

An Appeal for Dictatorship Comes Out of the Closet at the New York  Times

True  to form, the New York Times saw out 2012 by publishing another apology  for dictatorship. In his op-ed, Louis Michael Seidman — Professor  of Constitutional Law at Georgetown University – argues that the Constitution should be  abandoned.  The suggestion is so preposterous that it is tempting to  dismiss the article altogether, but to do so would be to miss some very  revealing implications.  The article is not so much a suggestion of  constitutional reform as an open call for dictatorship.

Seidman  begins by blaming the current governmental crisis, incredibly, on “obedience to  the Constitution,” which he describes as containing “archaic, idiosyncratic and  downright evil provisions.”  He does, however, lament that when some wise  government official reaches a decision on what will benefit the country, he is  likely to be stymied by this document.  Seidman expresses doubt about the  rationality of letting our wise official be dissuaded by the views of “a group  of white propertied men who have been dead for two centuries, knew nothing of  our present situation, acted illegally under existing law and thought it was  fine to own slaves.”  Continue Reading

Government Hires Most

(CNSNews.com) – Seventy-three percent of the new civilian jobs created in the United States over the last five months are in government, according to official data published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

In June, a total of 142,415,000 people were employed in the U.S, according to the BLS, Find-Government-Jobsincluding 19,938,000 who were employed by federal, state and local governments.

By November, according to data BLS released today, the total number of people employed had climbed to 143,262,000, an overall increase of 847,000 in the six months since June.

Choose Life…or Death

RALEIGH, N.C. – A federal judge has ruled it is unconstitutional for North Carolina to issue pro-life license plates unless the state offers similar plates supporting abortion rights.

U.S. District Court Judge James C. Fox ruled on Friday that North Carolina cannot produce or distribute the “Choose Life” plate.

Judge Fox concluded, “The State’s offering of a Choose Life license plate in the absence of a pro-choice plate constitutes viewpoint discrimination in violation of the First Amendment.”

The American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina Legal Foundation had filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina in Sept. 2011 on behalf of North Carolinians seeking a specialty license plate that supports a woman’s right to reproductive freedom.NC License Plate

“This is a great victory for the free speech rights of all North Carolinians, regardless of their point of view on reproductive freedom,” said Chris Brook, legal director of the ACLU-NCLF.

Brook said the government cannot create an avenue to express one side of a political issue while denying an equal opportunity to citizens with an opposing view.

Judge Fox granted a preliminary injunction in Nov. 2011 that temporarily blocked production of the “Choose Life” plate; that injunction is now permanent.

During the 2011 legislative session, the North Carolina General Assembly passed House Bill 289, which authorized the issuance of a “Choose Life” license plate.

However, officials say the legislature repeatedly refused to authorize a plate that supported the countervailing position in favor of reproductive freedom.

Six amendments were proposed in the legislature to authorize an additional new plate that stated either, “Trust Women. Respect Choice,” or simply “Respect Choice.” The legislature rejected all six amendments.

FL Senate President Laughs At Constitutionalist

Republican Florida State Senate President Don Gaetz showed the true face of tyrannical RINOs in the Republican Party when he openly laughed and mocked the Constitutional principles espoused by KrisAnne Hall, an attorney and former prosecutor, who supports the Tenth Amendment and the right of the States to nullify unconstitutional laws implemented by the federal government. However, it appears that Mr. Gaetz also indicated his support of the tactic of the seventh President of the United States Andrew Jackson in how he would deal with “nullifiers.” He would have them shot and hanged.

According to Mrs. Hall, she not only spoke to Gaetz, but even wrote him and explained the positions of men like James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, and Alexander Hamilton on State sovereignty. She then received what can only be explained as a violence threatening email from Gaetz to anyone that would support nullification. Here’s what Sen. Gaetz wrote:

Thank you for your email and for your passionate views.

Like you, I believe Obamacare is unconstitutional and wrong-headed policy. I have consistently voted in the Florida Legislature for legislation that affirms our state’s options, Nullificationobligations and sovereignty under the United States Constitution. I am working every day to ensure the election of national candidates who will repeal and replace this extraordinarily bad policy.

As to nullification, I tend to favor the approach used by Florida’s first Governor, Andrew Jackson:

It is said that one evening, while he was president, General Jackson was interrupted in his reading in his bedroom by an alarmed military aide who breathlessly reported, “Mr. President, the “nullifiers” are in front of the Executive Mansion with torches and guns. They are screaming that each state has the right to decide for itself which federal laws to follow. They threaten to burn us down if you will not agree with them.”

Without lifting his head from his reading, Andrew Jackson said, “Shoot the first nullifier who touches the Flag. And hang the rest.

Chaplain, I have sworn an oath on my father’s Bible before Almighty God to preserve, protect and defend the constitution and government of the United States. And that’s exactly what I intend to do. Count me with Andrew Jackson.

The Folly of Taxing the Rich

President Barack Obama has proposed raising taxes on the rich to put America’s fiscal house in order, but critics say federal spending is so massive that the wealthy don’t have enough money to cover the nation’s unprecedented debt.

In an interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell, Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) said President Barack Obama’s plan to raise taxes on the wealthy would only generate enough revenue to fund the federal government for eight days.

“The president’s plan to increase taxes on the upper two percent covers the spending bytax_the_rich this federal government not for eight years, not for eight months, not for eight weeks but for eight days. Eight days only,” said Mr. Price. “It’s not a real solution. So, again, I’m puzzled by an administration that seems to be more interested in raising tax rates than in gaining economic vitality.”

The problem is that the rich don’t have enough money to put so much as a dent in America’s $16 trillion national debt. “If the IRS grabbed 100 percent of income over $1 million, the take would be just $616 billion,” writes John Stossel. “That’s only a third of this year’s deficit. Our national debt would continue to explode.”

Still, Mr. Obama’s supporters persist in proposing tax hikes on the wealthy. On Sunday, billionaire Warren Buffett proposed a minimum tax for America’s top earners. “We need Congress, right now, to enact a minimum tax on high incomes. I would suggest 30 percent of taxable income between $1 million and $10 million, and 35 percent on amounts above that.”

There’s just one problem with such an approach, says author Mark Steyn:

obama-and-the-buffett-ruleIf you took every single penny that Warren Buffett has, it’d pay for 4-1/2 days of the US government. This tax-the-rich won’t work. The problem here is the government is way bigger than even the capacity of the rich to sustain it. The Buffett Rule would raise $3.2 billion a year, and take 514 years just to pay off Obama’s 2011 budget deficit.

Indeed, even Mr. Buffett seems to concede that he and the president’s “soak the rich” proposals are more an act of political theater designed to generate an emotional response than serious solutions: Mr. Buffett told Matt Lauer he believes his proposal would boost the “morale of the middle class.”

From the Common Constitutionalist: The facts are the facts. No matter how much spin Obama puts on it. The republicans, not wanting to try to educate the public, are jumping on the “Revenue” bandwagon. (Always remember, revenue equals tax increases).

Moderate republican Lindsey Graham told ABC’s This Week on Sunday, “Republicans should put revenue on the table. We’re this far in debt. We don’t generate enough Lindsey Graham revenue.” Rep. Cole said on Tuesday, “I think we ought to take the 98 percent deal right now,” and allow taxes to go up for higher income earners.

Rep. Peter King told NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday, “[The]  bottom line is we cannot have sequestration. We can’t go off a fiscal  cliff. We have to show the world we’re adults. … I think everything  should be on the table. I myself am opposed to tax increases.”

It appears to me Obama and the democrats have already won. A crisis has been created, on purpose, I might add, and the republicans will do what they always do. Whether it’s the end of the world scenario of TARP, the stimulus, the debt ceiling or this. They keep giving ground and the dems keep taking.

Let me put this “Tax the Rich” nonsense into further perspective. The federal government currently spends 9.5 billion dollars per day. Are you getting the magnitude of that number.

Now lets reinject John Stossel’s number. If we took every dime the rich makes it would total $616 billion. That would fund the government for about 65 days. What do you do on powerballthe 66th day? You’ve already taken all the income.

Let’s put some more perspective on it. We all heard about the huge Powerball jackpot this past week. Those 2 lucky winners are now rich beyond their wildest dreams. The cash payout for each is about $160 million give or take. That’s a lot of money unless one is trying to run the government. That whopping $160 million could run the federal government for less than a 1/2 hour. How’s that for some perspective.

This problem cannot and never will be solved until the size of government is slashed. Not just the fat trimmed, but cut to the bone. The only way to do that is to starve it of revenue.

We are going over the fiscal cliff, one way or the other. It’s just a question of when at this point.

You best prepared.

More “Green” Waste

Employees at Fed-Funded ‘Green’ Energy Company Openly Admit They Watch Movies, Play Cards Because ‘There’s Nothing to Do’

by:  at The Blaze

President Barack Obama in 2010 spoke at LG Chem subsidiary Compact Power, an electric battery plant in Holland, Mich., to tout his administration’s decision to pour millions and millions of taxpayer’s dollars into the clean energy industry.

“Our goal has never been to create a government program, but rather to unleash private-sector growth,” Obama said. “And we’re seeing results.”

“This is a symbol of where Michigan’s going. This is a symbol of where Holland is going. This is a symbol of where America is going,” he added.

President Barack Obama gives Gov. Jennifer Granholm a hug as LG Chem Ltd. Chairman Bon-Moo Koo, left, watches (AP)

Much like Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod’s premature Nats gloat tweet, the president’s 2010 Holland speech seems pretty ominous in retrospect.

Why? Because, according to a new report from Target 8, that same electric battery company President Obama spoke at in 2010 is an unmitigated disaster and a shameful waste of tax dollars.

For starters, there’s no work to be done. Employees, who are being paid with the $150 million the Department of Energy awarded the plant, claim they show up and sit around because there’s nothing to do. It has gotten to the point where employees spend most of their time playing cards and/or board games and watching movies to keep themselves entertained.

“There would be up to 40 of us that would just sit in there during the day,” one former LG Chem employee Nicole Merryman, who said she quit in May, told Target 8.

“We were given assignments to go outside and clean; if we weren’t cleaning outside, we were cleaning inside. If there was nothing for us to do, we would study in the cafeteria, or we would sit and play cards, sit and read magazines,” she added. “It’s really sad that all these people are sitting there and doing nothing, and it’s basically on taxpayer money.”

Two current employees claim the idling among workers continues because there’s nothing else to do.

“There’s a whole bunch of people, a whole bunch, filling their time with card games and board games,” one these current employee said.

“There’s no work, no work at all. Zero work,” another current employee added. “It is what it is. What do you do when there’s no work?”

Since the plant’s opening, more than a few workers have quit.

“I thought it might be a decent place to start a career, lots of places to move up,” one former employee, who quit this summer, told Target 8. “You can only do nothing for so long. There were days, sitting around all day doing nothing. … I didn’t play a whole lot of cards.”

“I bailed out of a sinking ship,” he added.

And as for that $150 million DOE grant: The Holland plant has already burned through $133 million, mostly for construction and equipment, with about 40 percent going to foreign companies.

Taxpayers so far have spent about $7 million training the plant’s employees (who claim they haven’t trained in months) and another $700,000 for worker’s health and dental insurance, according to Target 8.

But here’s the best part: Compact Power is furloughing its workers before the plant has even shipped a single battery, TheBlaze’s Mike Opelka reported last week. Yep, the Chevy Volt was supposed to be the plant’s biggest customer but, uh, that hasn’t really worked out.

“Workers say they made test battery cells, starting late last year, perhaps 100,000 or more, and they did a good job. They say they produced perhaps 4,000 a week, but worked ended for the most part last December,” Target 8 report.

They did, however, ship out those test batteries last spring, “apparently for recycling.”

Luckily — well, “luckily” depending on the amount of trust you have in federal bureaucrats — reports of the company’s inactivity have made their way to Washington where the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board has vowed to take action.

Once more, for good measure: “This is a symbol of where Michigan’s going. This is a symbol of where Holland is going. This is a symbol of where America is going” – President Obama.

Final Thought: As Election Day quickly approaches and these federally-funded “green” energy failures continue to stack up, it has become pretty obvious why Obama administration decided last year to stop releasing stimulus reports.
