Trump Better be Serious about Border Security Promises

It certainly appears that president-elect Donald Trump is serious about implementing at least some of his campaign promises. He better be – and not a moment too soon – because it’s much worse at the border than we’re being told.

The internet exploded on Tuesday when Reuters reported on an internal memo they obtained from the Department of Homeland Security.

After an exhaustive search of the web, it appears I am the only one to ask what I deemed to be a rather obvious question. How did Reuters obtain this memo? Virtually every article I perused, including the Reuters piece, described it as an “internal agency memo.” No one, including Reuters, ever said it was leaked, nor a Freedom of Information Act demand put on them to release it, as conservative media must do. No – just that it was a DHS “internal agency memo” reviewed by Reuters. I thought that odd. Is Reuters, and other leftist media outlets, privy to all DHS “internal” memos?

Anyway, Reuters wrote that the memo described a December 5, 2016 meeting between DHS and the Trump transition team. Trump’s team is said to have asked “the Department of Homeland Security to assess all assets available for border wall and barrier construction.” That’s a good sign. My guess is they probably have plenty of assets, as they sure haven’t been using any. read more

The Obama Cartel Involved in Human Trafficking

by: the Common Constitutionalist

In 2014, FedEx faced drug-trafficking charges after a federal grand jury in San Francisco indicted it for conspiring to deliver prescription drugs for illegal Internet pharmacies.

“The indictment says FedEx knew for a decade that such pharmacies used their services…”

They apparently ignored nearly a decade of warnings from the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Food and Drug Administration and members of Congress… “FedEx knew that it was delivering drugs to dealers and addicts,” the Justice Department said in a press release.

Fast forward to today. After two years, FedEx and our government are headed to federal court. I personally think this is a shakedown, similar to the 2013 case involving UPS. They avoided a court fight, choosing instead to settle, paying the feds some $40 million.

Some however, would say that our government is trying to help us, by cracking down on the evil drug trade – and that’s a good thing, right?

But what about human trafficking? Seems to me this is worse than even drugs. Cartels based in Mexico shuttle illegals into America under the radar and drop them off in various places across the country.

One would think the Obama administration would be more concerned with this epidemic than FedEx and some internet pharmacies. Well, they might, if our government wasn’t the cartel. read more

The TSA Has a 95% Failure Rate

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Homeland Security recently completed an internal investigation of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to see if they were performing proper airport security screenings.

DHS Red teams were dispatched to various airports to attempt to smuggle banned substances through security checkpoints. These substances included mockups of bombs and other weapons, such as fake plastics explosives laden with ball bearings, pipe bombs and a fully assembled, scoped M-4 assault rifle.

Of the 70 smuggling tests conducted, 67 made it passed the TSA screeners. That’s a failure rate of 95%. DHS issued a statement to MailOnline
saying: “The numbers and these reports never look good out of context, but they are a critical element in the continual evolution of our aviation security. Today, all air travelers are subject to a robust security system that employs multiple layers of protection, both seen and unseen, including: intelligence gathering and analysis, cross checking passenger manifests against watch lists, screening at checkpoints, random canine teams screening at airports, reinforced cockpit doors, Federal Air Marshals, armed pilots and a vigilant public.”

Really! Someone actually had the stones to write that after such an abysmal performance. read more

ISIS Camping On Our Doorstep

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Back in October 2014 Judicial Watch (JW)  reported that 4 ISIS terrorists “have been apprehended in the last 36 hours by federal authorities and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) in McAllen and Pharr.” The information was provided by a source within Homeland Security, according to JW.

border fenceCalifornia Congressman Duncan Hunter claimed that no less than 10 ISIS fighters had been caught crossing into Texas to date and that his information was provided to him directly from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

In August JW reported that “that Islamic terrorist groups are operating in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez and planning to attack the United States with car bombs or other vehicle borne improvised explosive devices (VBIED).”

After Congressman Hunter made the claim on Fox News, the main stream media did some investigating of their own and found no evidence to corroborate Mr. Hunter’s claim. They said that both Homeland Security and the Texas Department of Public Safety found no evidence of such activity. In an email to Politifact Texas, DHS spokes lady Marsha Catron, wrote: “The suggestion that individuals who have ties to ISIL have been apprehended at the Southwest border is categorically false, and not supported by any credible intelligence or the facts on the ground. DHS continues to have no credible intelligence to suggest terrorist organizations are actively plotting to cross the southwest border.”

DPS deputy director, Robert Bodisch wrote: “An unsecure border is certainly a vulnerability that can be exploited by criminals of all kinds, and it would be naïve to rule out the possibility that any criminal organization would not look for opportunities to take advantage of security gaps along our international border. That said, DPS does not have any information to confirm the specific statements recently reported in the press.” read more

Just Make Them all Citizens

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Will problems with immigration ever be solved? Frankly, do those who appear to fight for “reform” really want the issue to go away? After all, immigration advocacy has become quite the cottage industry.

And for dishonest politicians, as practically all of them are turning out to be; they are always looking for a good PC cause to latch on to.

I will give at least a few of them credit for the courage to appear on conservative talk radio to plead their cases.

A few weeks ago Marco Rubio was on Rush Limbaugh’s show. Rush tried his best to be civil, but as a veteran listener, I and I’m sure many others, knew Rush wasn’t buying what Marco was dishing out.

Jeff Flake, just last week or so, spoke on the Glenn Beck radio program. Man, did they NOT agree with Flake’s positions! Did these politicians really think they would convince anyone in these audiences?

We often wonder just what happens to these guys when they go to Washington. Is the capital building like some Death Star? During freshman orientation they are brought before the Emperor Darth Sidious and shown the power of the dark side. I just don’t get it?

Off topic: new rule for Congress and the Senate. 75% of your time must be spent in your home district. With today’s technology – votes and committee meetings will be conducted by secure link video conferencing. Could you imagine the wails of dissent if someone were to propose that?

Anyway, Ali Baba Schumer and his seven other thieves have picked up two more for their merry band, progressive Republicans John Cornyn (R- Texas) and Orrin Hatch (R – Utah). Sorry Mark Levin, but Orrin is a big government progressive.

With their help many amendments to at least slow this train have gone down to overwhelming defeat. Amendments such as requiring full operational border security before granting illegals, legal status. Wow! What a radical proposal. Sure am glad it was defeated.

What was passed was a Patrick (Leaky) Leahy (C – Vermont) (C for communist) amendment to give Big Sis Napolitano and DHS the leeway to secure the border… or not. I’m going to guess not. How about you?

Another proposal was to require just six months of border control before legal status was granted to criminal aliens. That too was soundly defeated. To it, Diane Feinstein said: “I have no doubt to this nation’s commitment to enforce the border.” Jeff Flake added that they shouldn’t delay amnesty for security. Fear not Jeff; they won’t. There will be full amnesty and no security. Heck, even if they vote for security, it won’t get done.

Remember the 2006 border fence agreement? I believe it was to construct 750 miles of double-layered fence. And remember Duncan Hunter at the time insisted it would be built due to the language in the bill? Not that the fence should be built, but he exclaimed, the fence “Shall be Built.”

Nearly everyone, Republican and Democrat alike voted for it at the time. That was seven years ago. We now have 35 miles built and no plans to complete it. Liars!

Another amendment that was passed is to allow Big Sis to cut back or stop altogether the reimbursements to states that imprison illegals.

By law, the feds must reimburse at least some of the cost of housing the criminal aliens.

But really, how much could that be? Don’t illegals wish to come to America for a better life? Yeah, some for a better life of crime.

In 2005 the GAO (Government accounting office) issued a report on just this. Keep in mind this was eight years ago.

The report discovered in just the federal prisons, 27% of prisoners are illegals and the majority of that percentage was Mexican. Between 2001 and 2004 reimbursements to state and local prisoners was $5.8 billion. It was estimated that reimbursements from the feds was no more than 25% of the cost the states had incurred.

So the feds refuse to do what they are charged to do, secure the border and deal with illegals and the states are left holding most of the bag. And now thanks to this bill and the DHS, probably the whole bag.

Bear in mind that states have no deportation authority, so they are truly stuck.

This 867 page and growing debacle will pass. We will have mass amnesty. There is already an ever-increasing influx of illegals coming over in anticipation. The border will not be secured and the country’s demise will be hastened because of it.

This is textbook Cloward and Piven – overwhelm the system, not to mention one party rule for a long long time.

It’s a win-win!
