But We Are At War With Mexico

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Any reasonable person would have recently joined in a collective belly laugh of irony at the cojones Obama appears to have when dealing with what he must think is a lesser nation like Turkey. This administration making demands of Turkey to close its border with Syria has to be one the most absurd utterances made by them yet, and that’s saying something.

Yet insist they did. “The game has changed. Enough is enough. The border needs to be sealed,” an Obama administration official said. The Obamites estimate “that about 30,000 troops are needed to block ISIS movements.”

To this, a Turkish official pointed out the pot-calling-the-kettle-black irony we are already aware of – that the U.S. can’t (won’t) close its own border, yet they lecture the Turks. In response, a U.S. official said, “If we were at war with Mexico, we’d close that border.”

Yesterday, on Fox and Friends, Ben Carson reiterated the point that, “For us to sit there and proclaim sanctimoniously that you should close your border while we haven’t done that to protect the American people seems to me the height of hypocrisy.”

But, in a manner of speaking, we are at war with Mexico – it’s a drug/gang war, and we’re losing. Because of our porous southern border, countless thousands of Mexican gang members have flooded into America, ferrying billions of dollars worth of drugs, countless acts of violence and the Mexican government has done little or nothing to stop it. In my opinion they are complicit.

And for a fee, they are more than happy to bring in any jihadist to the party who can pay the fare. read more

Maybe Now You Will Close the Border Mr. President

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Who’d have figured that the modern day plague (potentially) may be the cure for illegal immigration?

For years conservatives have struggled against the left and the Chamber of Commerce prostitutes, the establishment Republicans, to stop or at least stem the tide of illegals – to close the border.

No matter what the argument for closing the border, there were always politicians and interest groups standing in the way, trying to tell us what a great deal it will be – what a boon to our economy.

Pleas of stopping drug cartels, gangs and terrorists fall on deaf ears. Nothing can stop the flood.

But now we’re faced with an enemy we can’t see – an enemy we can’t arrest, detain or deport.

Despite the government and their dimwitted accomplices in the media, Ebola is for real and it’s already here. It may be isolated – it may not. read more

Security Double Standard?

So what if a group of patriotic Americans wanted to gather to protest the growing problem at the southern border? Say the event was to be called “Shut Down All Ports of Entry”. The groups plan would be to peacefully block 17 ports of entry between the United States and Mexico stretching from San Diego to Brownsville Texas. The protesters would just drive to the border and parked their vehicles in front of any entry point to block it. That’s it – just peacefully attempt to stop all traffic entering the U.S. from Mexico.

But to what end? What might this group hope to accomplish?

The group’s goals, according to Indiana-based protest organizer Rob Chupp, include the immediate release of active duty Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, who was arrested in April in Mexico for bringing loaded weapons into the country after apparently making a wrong turn at the San Ysidro port of entry in Southern California. Chupp’s group also wants the U.S. government to “secure our borders and protect the citizens in America from foreign threats”.

Fox 5 San Diego reported that the event organizer Stasyi Barth said, “We need to bring attention to the border.” Barth explained that she is frustrated with Congress’s inability to secure the border and get a handle on the nation’s illegal immigration issue.

Barth added: “We’re going to stay at the bridges until our demands are met. We have a Marine that has been wrongly imprisoned in Mexico and abandoned by the government. We need to bring him back to his mom and dad immediately. Second, we need to seal off the southern border.”

The protest, which appeared to have at least 2000 volunteers, was to occur on Saturday, September 20. Chupp claimed that an unnamed federal law enforcement body had advised the group to avoid certain ports because of potential threats from the terrorist group ISIS.

Wait… What?! A federal agency warns of threats by ISIS and they don’t do anything more than say don’t go there?! read more
