ACLU Wants Local Police to Thwart Trump’s Illegal Alien Crackdown

Last week it was announced that the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is launching an attack (rhetorically) on the Trump administration and his order to crack down on illegal immigration and sanctuary cities.

As an aside – isn’t it funny that of its four word name, the only word that may correctly apply is Union? This Union of radicals is, in my opinion, American in name only, hardly civil and has very little to do with liberty.

The Guardian.com, that paragon of conservatism, writes that, “The civil rights organization, which has emerged as one of the Trump administration’s major foes, plans to leverage individual cities’ local authority to protect undocumented immigrants from deportation.”

Well that’s interesting and befuddling, as States, cities and localities have zero authority regarding anything having to do with immigration – other than assisting federal law enforcement. I’m not a radical leftist ACLU attorney, but I can read. The Constitution is pretty clear on that point. Article I, section 8, clause 4 gives Congress full authority, “To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization…,” and thus immigration. read more

Progressive Hollywood Isn’t Progressive Enough

By: the Common Constitutionalist

When one wishes to take the pulse of the real radical left, you need to know where to look. Oh, I don’t mean just liberals like CNN or the Washington Post. I’m talking about radicals who think liberals aren’t liberal enough. For news on that front, you need to go to sites like MoveOn.org, ThinkProgress or the ACLU.

That being said – who doesn’t think Hollywood is progressive enough? Well, evidently the radicals at the ACLU (yes, I know that’s redundant) don’t believe progressive Hollywood is progressive enough.

Normally I would never side with the ACLU on anything. They are awful and a wholly un-American organization. But I do so enjoy when smug leftists in Hollywood get caught by other leftists not practicing what they preach.

For decades cloistered Hollywood has been on the cutting edge of every new “civil right” and liberal cause to come down the pike. But recently even it has come under fire.

We all remember the big flap over the lack of black representation at the last Academy Awards and the fight for equal pay for actresses, headlined by Jennifer Lawrence who only grossed $52 million in 2015. Poor girl.

If that’s not bad enough, “last summer, the ACLU asked federal and state agencies to explore whether gender discrimination is responsible for the dearth of female directors in the entertainment industry.” The federal investigation will be headed up by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs. read more

Podcast – Torture Photos Released – A Reparations APP

Today I will discuss 200 photos the ACLU demanded our Military release documenting the horrific acts of torture our service men and women perpetrated on the innocent detainees in Iraq and Afghanistan, at places like the infamous Abu Ghraib facility.

I also discuss reparations and one black activist’s want for America to pay up. The good news is that if you happen to be white and guilty about being so, there is an APP just for you.

ACLU Picks the Republican

The ACLU, that bastion of
righteousness, has now taken upon itself to rank the presidential candidates.
The Nashua Telegraph reports that the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) has released their “Candidate Report Card”, ranking candidates for the Republican nomination and President Barack Obama on how well – or poorly – they adhere to the Constitution.

I wasn’t aware The ACLU had a sense of humor? They must have quite a good one because they have to be kidding. What would they know about the Constitution other than how to subvert it?

You may also say, who cares. I, for one, care. If the ACLU rates high, any Republican candidate, you best run away, from said candidate.

So, let’s take a look and see what they came up with.

You would think this would be a slam-dunk for the anointed one. Oh contraire.

The criteria that they used to rank the candidates is as follows:

The rankings, represented by lit or unlit “Lady Liberty torches” (see, they do have a sense of humor), were based on seven categories: humane immigration policy, closing Guantanamo Bay and ending indefinite detentions, gays and lesbians serving openly in the military, ending torture, ending a surveillance state, gay marriage and freedom of reproductive choice. (Weren’t these first seven amendments in the Bill of Rights?) Candidates could score up to four torches in each category, according to the report.

Here are the 2012 candidates in order of ACLU preference:

Gary Johnson, libertarian w/ 21 torches

Ron Paul, libertarian w/ 18 torches

Barack Obama came in third w/ 16

Jon Huntsman w/ 12

Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry each got only 2 ACLU torches

Rating lowest and last on the ACLU scale are Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum with 0 torches. Michele Bachmann also rated 0 but has dropped out of the race.

I don’t know about you but if the ACLU doesn’t like a candidate, that alone is a good reason for me to support them.

So, that tells me I have 3 candidates to choose from.

There’s Bachmann, but she dropped out. That’s not much of an option.

How about Mitt? Well
, he’s a squishy moderate that keeps telling us he’ll work with the democrats. “Work with democrats” is code for conservatives must compromise & libs don’t. He’s out.

That leaves one. Rick Santorum.

I stand corrected. The ACLU has performed a service after all.
