Roseanne defends Kanye West on his controversial tweet – and it’s about Obama
Television star Roseanne Barr weighed in on the controversy over tweets from rapper and entertainer Kanye West supporting President Trump, and she slammed former President Barack Obama in the process.
Here’s what she said
Barr offered her support and criticism in the form of just one tweet Thursday.
“Kanye West is telling the truth about Rahm’s Chicago.” she said. “Ppl do not want to hear the truth-that Chicago could be a better city for its citizens, but the establishment is corrupted.”
Barr’s tweet, which has since been deleted, was apparently in response to one of the statements West made that caused a lot of controversy.
“Obama was in office for eight years and nothing in Chicago changed,” he tweeted.
West expanded on the idea when he visited the TMZ offices to explain his thoughts on race relations.
“We can make our own reality – we can talk about history but not too long,” he told TMZ. “Black people have a tendency to focus and march when a white person kills a black person or wears a hat, but when it’s 700 kids killed in Chicago it’s OK, it’s OK for blacks to kill blacks…”
