Another week, another Trumpism. It seems not a week goes by where Trump isn’t blowing up the headlines – and the heads of the left and the establishment right. And on occasion we conservatives feel the need to defend him, or at least his statements.
Of course everyone is speaking of the Trump statement (mostly negatively), now heard round the world that he is calling for “A complete and total shutdown of all Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what’s going…”
One of his supporters, standing in a rather long line at a Trump event in South Carolina was asked by a CNN reporter whether she had a problem with the plan. The supporter said: “That’s a very prudent idea and I think that he’s done due diligence when he makes that statement.” She added that, “We have to protect American citizens and the vetting process lacks integrity.” The reporter then says, although not to the Trump supporter, that, “That’s not true. In fact the vetting process, run through multiple agencies, is vigorous.”
Well, Ms. CNN reporter – that may be true, but whether the “vetting” process is vigorous or not is immaterial. If Muslims coming into the country have no “paper trail,” one could “vet” them until the cows come home and still no nothing about them or their intentions. I do though have a problem with the supporters thought that Trump did his due diligence. No he didn’t. He just blurted it out. At least it appeared that way. But this too is immaterial. It takes no due diligence to know a good portion of these Muslims, certainly the refugees, cannot be vetted and therefore should be denied entry.
Sean Hannity actually explained the position of Trump supporters and really most reasonable Americans. He asked why we American citizens are being told we must gamble with our own lives just to allow unvetted Muslims into the United States. I would also add illegal aliens. How does this make any sense at all? Hannity then went on to say that when all our intelligence agencies say things are safe, they should be allowed to enter, but not before.
Well, I have to disagree with that statement, if for no other reason than we are talking about the Obama administration, who controls these agencies. I don’t trust them to tell us the truth about anything, least of which not Muslim immigrants. If they said the sky was blue today, I would have to see for myself.
We need only to gaze across the pond to see which of the European countries we should be emulating. Take Sweden and Norway for example. They are neighbors and roughly the same size, approximately that of California. But that’s where the similarities end. One has smartened up while the other is financing its own demise.
There are as many as 55 Muslim controlled “No Go” zones in Sweden, where Sharia is law and authorities don’t dare go. The police report that there are now vehicle checkpoints operated by Muslim gangs on the borders of these zones.
Glenn Beck was actually in Sweden yesterday, where he reported that, “This is probably the most tolerant place as far as immigration in the world.” He went on to describe how in the 1980s, Sweden decided to open its arms and offer “free everything” to all immigrants, including free lessons in the Swedish language. “They just expected people to assimilate and matriculate into Swedish citizens,” Glenn said. “What they didn’t understand was, there’s no intention of becoming Swedish for most of these people.”
Glenn said Sweden is now at a tipping point where the Swedish people will be the minority within the next 10-12 years. Some Swedish districts are now 80% Muslim immigrant and have as much as 62% unemployment and statistics show that 1 in 4 Swedish women will be raped. Sweden is literally paying Muslims to conquer their nation.
Then there is Norway, just next door, who recently elected a Conservative Party, and has begun deporting Muslim immigrants who have ties with radical groups. Norway’s new government has not cowed to those who cry racism and Islamophobia. But they are not just sending them packing. They are paying those who leave voluntarily – some are getting almost $10,000. Those who don’t are going anyway. And a funny thing is happening in Norway. In less than a year since deportations began, violent crime is already down 31% and dropping.
So which country do we want to emulate? The smart one or the stupid one.
