Roosevelt University’s anti-Trump Safe Space

from the College Fix:

Roosevelt University has launched a self-described safe space campaign that includes posting “symbolic” signs across its urban and suburban campuses stating “Inclusion Has No Borders” in response to President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.

The university’s newly formed Outreach, Advocacy, Social Justice, Information and Safety (OASIS) Committee announced the campaign last week. The effort includes posting the “Inclusion Has No Borders” signage around the university, which has campuses in Chicago and nearby Schaumburg, Illinois.

Students, faculty and staff have been encouraged to post the signs on campus and use the hashtag “#YouAreWelcomeHere” on their social media accounts. read more

“We Are Not Afraid” Hashtag Campaign is a Load of Crap

In the aftermath of the Wednesday terrorist attack in London, many took to Twitter with another “feel-good” hashtag campaign. This time the meme is #WEARENOTAFRAID.

It is another lame attempt by liberals of what Michelle Malkin calls “virtue signaling.” She explains  that hastag campaigns are

Virtue Signaling

“easy advertisements and maudlin displays of one’s resolute opposition to an unidentified something that must be stopped somehow by unspoken means.” It is also an effort for those with no identity of their own to identify with and involve themselves in the crisis without ever having to actually do anything.

Yet unlike previous virtue signaling campaigns like those which claim “solidarity,” the “We Are Not Afraid” campaign is particularly silly and oh-so wrong.

You see, they are afraid – afraid to offend.

The left twists themselves up like pretzels in an effort not to offend. And this is another incident of what their leftist borderless virtue has wrought. Because of their fear of offending all the wrong people, Europe is rapidly losing its identity and culture – voluntarily giving way to savages whose only goal is to conquer, convert and subjugate them. And those who are actually “Not Afraid,” will be murdered. read more

I don’t think anyone would ever mistake me for a leftist – not even being left leaning. There’s not much about them that makes any sense and the decisions they make, the opinions they have, tend to be highly contradictory at times.

Their views on children, for example. They teach children about separation of Church and State, but dress them up in Hijabs, conduct mock prayers to Allah and teach them the Five Pillars of Islam.

They teach children about the dangers of predatory men in the schoolyard, the playground, on the streets and online. Yet they insist that everyone should be able to use the same bathroom.

The left insists on coddling children – protecting them from every potentially dangerous or controversial situation (when it suits their political agenda). They claim that we must shield them from disappointment and anything which can damage a young student’s self-esteem or hurt their little feelings. read more

My Weekly WND Exclusive – The Clueless Left’s Alignment with Radical Islam

I recently wrote an article on the Day Without a Woman protest, or strike, or whatever it turned out to be.

Unbeknownst to every participant, I’m sure, the women’s protest for equality (or whatever the heck it was) was not organized by concerned citizens or even feminist groups like the National Organization for Women. It was in fact organized largely by extremist Islamists – one a Shariah law advocate and another a known terrorist.

One of the various ways the Muslim Brotherhood has had success infiltrating American society is that they organize and involve themselves in events to co-opt liberal causes, further advancing their radical Islamic ideology. They also promote liberal causes in an effort to piggyback onto any potential legislative measure created to placate whiny leftists. This is part of their overall plan, which has been dubbed Civilization Jihad. read more

The Middlebury Monopoly

from Thomas Sowell:

Many people seem shocked at the recent savagery of a mob of students at Middlebury College, who rioted to prevent Charles Murray from addressing a student group who had invited him to speak. They also inflicted injuries requiring hospitalization on a woman from the faculty who was with him.

Where have all these shocked people been all these years? What happened at Middlebury College has been happening for decades, all across the country, from Berkeley to Harvard. Moreover, even critics of the Middlebury College rioters betray some of the same irresponsible mindset as that of the young rioters.

The moral dry rot in academia — and beyond — goes far deeper than student storm troopers at one college. read more

New York Public Schools Prefer Illiterate Teachers

Today, one of parents’ greatest fears is making certain their kids receive a good education. It’s gotten so ridiculous in some sectors of society that expecting parents are interviewing and reserving space in the finest kindergarten long before the child is born.

Liberal elitists are especially susceptible to this inter-parent peer pressure – to get their children into the finest schools. And of course the elites, in places like Washington D.C, San Francisco, L.A. or New York, would never stoop so low as to allow little Penelope or Reginald to attend a public school, where they might have to interact with the serfdom class. The country club class insists on the finest education for their offspring, and despite their rhetoric, don’t believe this can be achieved in a public school.

I don’t know about those other cities, but regarding New York, I’m going to break from my norm and side with the elitists on this one. As bad as New York public schools are presently, they are about to get a lot worse.

The Poughkeepsie Journal reports that, “New York education officials are poised to scrap a test designed to measure the reading and writing skills of people trying to become teachers…”

Now why would the New York Education Department do such a thing? Care to take a guess? If you guessed racism, you win the prize. Actually there is no prize other than the satisfaction that you have an understanding of the liberal mind – where if all is not right with their world, the fault must be due to racism. read more

The Day Without A Woman Event was Organized by Radical Islamists

The “A Day Without A Woman” protest has come and gone. Anyone notice? Me either.

For most of us in the real world, it passed without disruption. But for the privileged who were able to attend one of these events, I suppose it was a rousing success. By what measure, I do not know. That’s just what they say.

Whining liberal elitist females showed up at places like outside Trump Tower in New York City to complain how put upon they are and that they are somehow denied even the basics of human dignity, merely because they are female.

According to VOX, most of the working women who sacrificed so much to show up and display their solidarity, did so by sacrificing pretty much nothing. read more

Podcast – Vegetable Oil is Killing Us – Leftist CEOs React to Trump Travel Ban

Once again another food myth has apparently been busted. This time it’s vegetable oil. According to new research, vegetable oils can cause all sorts of ailments, including dementia, Alzheimer’s, cancer and others. Yes, new research suggests we would better off going back to using the old tried and butter. And evidently Palm oil is the worst of the worst. Just like many other foods and beverages “science” said were bad for us, this myth of replacing bad fats with healthy vegetable oils is crapola.

I discuss the reaction of Uber CEO Travis Kalanick to Trumps, at least temporarily defunct travel ban. He, like other leftist business leaders are taking a political stand against Trump, and at least in some cases, it is backfiring. read more

Donald Trump, Black History Month, and Made Up Outrage

by: the Common Constitutionalist

President Trump has taken a lot of crap from the left over his recent acknowledgement of black history month.

His short speech has caused a firestorm of criticism and ridicule over Trump’s highlighting of one famous black icon, Frederick Douglass.

As most are aware Trump said of Douglass, that he “is an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more I noticed…”

From that statement, virtually everyone on the left concluded that Trump thinks that Douglass is still alive and that he doesn’t know anything about Douglass. Really? It couldn’t be that Douglass just doesn’t get the press, or constant recognition that other, modern day civil rights leaders receive, because that’s they way I understood it. I thought it was just another Trumpism – that anyone Trump appreciates or likes, does, or has done, “an amazing job.”

When that row between Trump and John Lewis, the once civil rights leader and now democrat sell-out, occurred, we heard from Lewis on countless occasions – as well as other black leaders. I listened to many of those speeches and commentaries. I don’t recall hearing the name Frederick Douglass come up once. read more

My WND Exclusive – For Teachers, Ideology Trumps Intelligence

Some of the wackiest places on the planet today are American schools. Literally every day of the year I have the opportunity to write about some liberal foolishness happening on a college campus or public secondary school, should I choose. There are several excellent websites devoted to nothing but leftism in education, and they are never wanting for fresh material.

But this is to be expected in the today’s world of academia. Colleges and universities pump out radical leftist activists and send them out to pose as teachers and administrators. They are the ones who teach little Johnny and Janey that students should expect to spend their formative years, and beyond, safe from conflict and controversy – and that anyone who disrupts the physical and mental safety of the delicate flowers can and should be dealt with harshly. read more
