Hypocrisy Reigns at Eugene Lang College

According to the Princeton Review, “Eugene Lang College is an ‘unconventional,’ highly urban school with few academic requirements where courses have ‘really long poetic titles’ and professors ‘go by their first names.’” Yeah I’d pay well north of $20K a year for that – wouldn’t you, you groovy hipster? And we wonder why young adults can’t find decent paying jobs after graduating college. Because they graduate with worthless degrees by taking courses like “queer ecologies.”

This upcoming semester, the college will offer this four-credit course entitled, “Queer Ecologies.” The course is said to be, “for students who wish to ‘disrupt prevailing heterosexist discursive and institutional articulations of sexuality and nature.’” Yep – that’s a really long poetic title all right, which means absolutely nothing to most but sure does sound edumicated, don’t it. I swear. I think they just purposely string a bunch of multi-syllabic words together to make them sound erudite. And the more confusing it is, the more high-brow it must be. read more

Blacks Are Being Lied To

by: John Velisek USN (Ret.)

for the Common Constitutionalist

Civility in politics has always been a challenge. There are examples of poor behavior going back to the Founding. The two-party system is adversarial, but rules of order and the basic decency of our citizens have been a brake on the outright violence seen in third world countries.

This has changed in the past eight years. Former President, Barack Obama worked hard to sow divisions within our populous, and deepen the rift that many Americans worked so hard to close. Academics pursue these divisions for no other reason than to attempt to push a socialist agenda. While most people in real America do nothing more than work hard for long hours to put food on the table and pay their bills, there are those who want nothing more than to tear our country apart. read more

Another Social Media Platform Banning Conservatives

from the Blaze:

Twitter has been ‘shadow banning’ conservatives, but not liberals — here’s what that means

Some conservatives have had their reach and accessibility limited on Twitter, whereas their liberal Democrat counterparts have not been impacted on the platform, a Vice News investigation has revealed.

Type the names of certain conservative figures in the search bar, such as Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), for example, and the profile doesn’t automatically appear in the drop down results like most public figures do. read more

With Republicans like Scott and Rubio, Who Needs Democrats

Does the Senate now have the formula it needs to never again confirm another Clarence Thomas? By that I mean another constitutionalist justice? Or for that matter, another lower court originalist? Could be.

The key appears now to simply look back, as far as one has to, at a nominee’s record in order to find something controversial and “outside the mainstream.” And by controversial and outside the mainstream, I mean any perceived transgression that could cause consternation among the new snowflake class of legislator.

The seminal case was just recently decided by the Senate. Upon hearing of a new development, Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell, pulled the nomination of Ryan Bounds for a position on the infamous Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. His nomination by Trump dates back almost a year now – from September, 2017.

Now you would naturally conclude that the democrats are up to their old tricks, using labels such racist, sexist, homophobe, etc. to describe Bounds. You’d be half right.

This time it was a pair of “Republicans” who did the left’s dirty work. These two newly minted social justice warriors are Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and Marco Rubio (R-Fla.). read more

Dave Rubin Asks: Are You Tolerant?

Are you tolerant? I mean are you tolerant of other points of view? Do you accept that not everyone thinks and acts the same and that, within reason, we should all be able to live and let live?

If so, you cannot be a modern day liberal. Today’s leftist cannot and will not tolerate any deviation from the prescribed ideology.

Liberal Dave Rubin for Prager University describes this to a tee:

LGBTQ Rights are more Special than Yours

What has been the clarion cry of the left? Of course it’s been one of disenfranchisement. They are the oppressed – the bullied – the back-of-the-bus riders.

And for years we on the right have heard that various left-leaning groups just want to be treated as equals – but that Jim Crow conservatives (that’s all conservatives, by the way) are holding these factions down.

We right-wingers have always been confused by this. We are the true, live and let live Americans. We are the ones who espouse equal rights for all, special rights for none.

But that has never been good enough for the left, particularly today, as they become increasingly radicalized. The left doesn’t want equal rights. They do in fact demand special rights for every new subset of the left.

Women and “people of color” did receive the equal rights they deserved. Yet it didn’t stop there. It never does with the left. Women now receive guilt-ridden special rights by virtue of Title IX carve-outs. People of color received affirmative action carve-outs. Both are special rights, afforded to no other groups. Hardly the equal rights that their forefathers and mothers so reasonably demanded. read more

Black Carjacking Hero of Chicago

from the American Thinker:

Media Lining Up to Defend Black Teen Shot in Carjacking, Attempted Murder

What’s it like to feel powerless?

A lieutenant in the Chicago Fire Department may find out.  The fireman committed the grave sin of defending himself and his property from an aggressor.  Now he is the target of a social media campaign to ex post facto punish him for having the audacity to protect what is rightfully his.

Last summer, the unidentified firefighter left his Jeep idling on the West Side of the city (admittedly, not a bright thing to do anywhere in Chicago) when it was carjacked by 17-year-old Charles Macklin.

Separation of Church & State Doesn’t Include Islam

from Creeping Sharia:

Why are ‘Iftar dinners’ being promoted by schools, churches and official government offices?

When powerful people in our communities start promoting one specific religion, giving it special prominence not offered to others, it’s time to wake up and ask questions.

Nowhere is this special treatment more obvious than during the month of Ramadan, the 30 days of fasting and special prayers that ends with the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Fitr. Each night the fast is broken with an Iftar dinner. During Ramadan, we see Iftar dinners being openly promoted and in some cases even co-sponsored by local governments and attended/promoted by politicians.

White House Ramadan dinner

President Trump’s White House even got into the act. Trump hosted an Iftar dinner this week, a truly shocking change of policy over last year when the president decided to break with the tradition started by President Clinton, who hosted the first White House Ramadan meal in 1996 [it was actually Hillary’s idea not Bill’s].

President George W. Bush continued the tradition, as did President Obama, who declared upon being elected that “American is no longer a Christian nation” and was eager to put meat on the bones of that statement by taking advantage of every opportunity to honor Islam.

Ramadan in the schools

New York City public schools have since 2016 remained closed on the Islamic holiday of Eid, even as the school system has eliminated Christian holidays in favor of secular “breaks.” Easter has been replaced by “spring break” and Christmas with “winter break.”

Franklin High School in Seattle rescheduled its prom and senior breakfast to avoid disrupting Ramadan. The school last year also interrupted its late-night graduation ceremony and provided loaves of bread for graduates to break their fast.

Podcast – Transgenders vs Feminism

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

You may have heard that a couple of transgender students, boys who think they’re girls, were allowed to compete at a girls track meet recently in Connecticut. It didn’t go well for the girls as the fake girls kicked their butts.

Now there’s a debate about whether this is fair for the girls who have given up much to workout, train and compete, all for nothing – to lose to boys playing dress up.

Well, it’s not fair – it’s absurd, but this is the disease of radical leftism. They will keep on pushing ridiculous agenda items as this until the system just collapses or enough people of common sense declare that enough is enough. And that time has come.

Students Disagree, then Agree on Wedding Cake Ruling

Campus Reform recently sent one of their people out to troll the streets of Washington DC. He asked college-aged passers-by their thoughts on the supreme Court decision allowing the Colorado baker to refuse to bake a wedding cake for a homosexual couple. Should the baker be forced to bake the cake. He asked: “Do you agree or disagree with that ruling?”

The responses started out as we would expect. They all disagreed. But then he threw in a couple of curve ball questions and things got a bit more muddled. Shockingly, the responses were not all bad.
