What’s Next for Target Dressing Rooms – Attacks – Abductions?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

On April 19, Target announced that anyone can now use their restrooms or dressing rooms, regardless of gender.

With its announcement, Target has made the statement that they are a company run by enlightened progressives who care more about equal rights than you and I.

Their statement, so chock-full of feel-good liberal buzzwords, it could have (and may have) been written by the Obama administration. On its corporate website they posted that, “We believe that everyone – every team member, every guest, and every community – deserves to be protected from discrimination, and treated equally. We welcome transgendered team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.”

So we deserve to be protected from discrimination, just not from predators. They also mentioned that they “welcome transgendered team members” (store employees) yet strangely, I haven’t seen anywhere the number of transgender “team members” they have. And even odder is that the mainstream media has not bothered to ask. I wonder why that is, he asked rhetorically.

Instead, all we hear is the constant refrain of how anyone who doesn’t agree with the Target policy is a Bible-thumping myopic Neanderthal. When we with common sense dare to question the sanity of the Target policy, the left claims that we are unnecessarily whipping up opposition and just being absurd. read more

And Then There Was One

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I am not a #NeverTrump guy. I never have been. I’ve jokingly said things like it, but I was never #NeverTrump. I also said I was never an “Only Cruz” guy. Like Levin, Beck and very few other prominent conservatives, I have become an “Always Constitution” voter. Cruz was our guy because he was the closest we may ever come to “Always Constitution.”

From the start, I didn’t care who the nominee was, as long as they could remain true to the Constitution. I understand being true to the Constitution is impossible today, even for Ted, but if Jeb Bush came out early on and had a provable, demonstrable conversion to constitutional conservatism, I could have just as easily been a Jeb Bush guy. Fat chance of that happening.

This is what many don’t seem to understand, or if they do, they don’t disseminate, either accidentally or purposely. For some #NeverTrump folks I’m sure their opposition is establishment sour grapes, but not for voters like us.

Rush, Sean, virtually the entire Fox News Crew and many other conservatives only characterize #NeverTrump voters as the establishment. You must be one or the other. Very rarely, if ever do they mention real principled constitutionalists as those who cannot and will not pull the lever for The Donald. This is quite frustrating.

I believe I know why they do it. I think it’s a veiled attempt to convince us that to abstain from voting for Trump is a defacto vote for Hillary, thus becoming unwitting stooges for the establishment RINOs. Naturally no conservative wants to be classified as an establishment stooge, so therefore we must get on board the Trump train to prove our anti-establishment bona-fides. read more

Fox is Bleeding Viewers – I Wonder Why?

By: the Common Constitutionalist

Remember during the first Fox News debate in August of 2015, Megyn Kelly gave every appearance of an operative charged by some higher authority to take out The Donald. It looked as if she was (verbally) attacking Trump – and it sure appeared purposeful. At the time a number of conservatives, me included, came to his assistance, crying foul.

I wrote of how disheartened I was by the Fox Moderators. You may review the article here.

I began my review of that debate by positing the theory that is was the RNC and the establishment who were hell-bent to take out Trump and was frankly surprised to see Fox was charged with the task.

As an aside – it’s interesting to go back and review others and my stance on the candidates several months ago and how things have evolved since. I personally went from being impressed with what Trump had to say and his bravado in doing so to not so much. He was quite refreshing and attractive – at first.

Anyway, in February, Gateway Pundit posted an article entitled: “After Months of Constant Attacks on GOP Front-Runner Trump – Conservatives Lose Faith in FOX News.” read more

Iron Mike Ditka Pays the Price for Being Conservative

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Sheeesh! This is second time this week I’ve written about Rush Limbaugh. It does have to do with politics, but thankfully it doesn’t concern the presidential election or the never-ending primary season. I know it’s of vital importance, but frankly the never ending daily doses of it are getting a bit old.

So let’s instead turn our attention to something sports related – sports as it relates to politics.

Some of you may remember that Rush Limbaugh did a short stint as a commentator on the sports network ESPN. If you don’t, that’s okay. It was after all 13 years ago. In 2000 Limbaugh was passed over for a seat on the ABC Monday Night Football crew. They instead went with Dennis Miller. That worked out well – NOT.

Three years later he was offered a position on ESPN’s flagship broadcast, “NFL Sunday Night Countdown,” joining Chris Berman, Tom Jackson, Steve Young and Michael Irvin. I recall Rush telling his radio audience that they told him he could speak about anything – that there would be virtually no filter. And he believed them – silly guy. read more

Podcast – The Kickoff of the Jihad Olympics – Is Obama House Hunting in DC

In this episode, I discuss the two recent terror attacks by ISIS and al-Qaeda in Paris and Mali respectively. Yes, it’s the Jihad Olympics and the two major competitors are the aforementioned ISIS and a resurging al-Qaeda, both vying for the Gold Medal. A Gold Medal performance will be determined by the severity of attacks on the United States – Silver for Europe and other Western nations and Bronze for less significant targets. This competition between the two terror groups may get ugly and that’s bad news for the rest of us.

And, are the Obamas house hunting in Washington D.C. yet? While most presidents happily sail off into the sunset to lead lives of relative anonymity, this president will remain in D.C. to agitate against the next Executive. It’s what he was trained to do and neither he, nor the media will sit by quietly and let his successor undo any of his disastrous policies or Executive Orders. read more

Is That What Trump Said?

As you all know, I am not a Trump guy, but just as I came to the defense of Ben Carson as the press (and talking heads) lambaste him over his suggestion that the Chinese are in Syria, they, as well as every other lazy, ill-informed fool, are now murdering Trump over something he didn’t say. Everyone has taken one sound bite out of context, without any further examination of what was actually said and run with it as if it were gospel.  read more

Don’t Vote For Ben – He’s a Buffoon

by: the Common Constitutionalist

According to the New York Times, the paper of record don’t cha know, Dr. Ben Carson is utterly clueless, because he said the Chinese were in Syria. What a maroon! (hat tip Bugs Bunny)

Now the first thing I noticed about the New York Times piece is their outright refusal to call Ben Carson doctor. His name was evoked several times in the rather lengthy piece and each time they used Mr., not Dr.

I thought that odd. Could it be that the Times is so threatened by Dr. Carson, a black neurosurgeon, that they felt the need to delegitimize him by demoting him to simply a Mister? Again, I thought this purposeful omission rather curious.

Now, I don’t know if the Chinese are physically in Syria, and frankly neither does anyone else, to be certain. We can assume they are not because no one else has mentioned them, but that doesn’t prove Dr. Carson is ill-informed or lying or both.

The Times begins by writing that, “Ben Carson’s remarks on foreign policy have repeatedly raised questions about his grasp of the subject, but never more seriously than in the past week, when he wrongly asserted that China had intervened militarily in Syria and then failed, on national television, to name the countries he would call on to form a coalition to fight the Islamic State.” Actually, that’s not what he said. And as to the “coalition” question, his answer was simply to lead from the front. Begin an offensive campaign – others will see you’re serious and follow your lead – and voila – you have a coalition.

Now I’m not a Carson guy, but who is to say the Chinese aren’t there in some form or another. Are we to take only the word of the “experts” in the Obama administration – you know – the same ones who insist there is no threat of ISIS within the mass “refugee” infiltration into the United States? You mean those guys. read more

Podcast – The House Freedom Caucus Holds America Hostage – Ben Carsons Holocaust Remarks – Hitler Hits the Streets in Germany

by: the Common Constitutionalist

In this episode, Representative Trent Franks (R-AZ) defends the 40 member evil right-wing House Freedom Caucus that, according to left, is holding the nation hostage with their extremist views and refusal to “compromise.” Ben Carson defends his position on the Holocaust – how armed Jews may have possibly diminished Hitler’s grand plan of extermination, and Adolf Hitler is back and wandering the streets of Germany, much to delight of some. read more

The Left Purposely Pits One Conservative Against Another

by: the Common Constitutionalist

(inspiration provided by Mark Levin)

So Ben Carson, as a presidential candidate, is evidently no longer allowed to have a personal opinion on any matter regarding the new front of the left’s civil rights movement. Sure, Carson is black and all – but we moved on from that. Muslim rights are now where it’s at!

Carson’s personal opinion is that he wouldn’t advocate for a Muslim to become president. This is his personal opinion and has nothing at all to do with Article VI of the Constitution, and the document as a whole, which deals exclusively with the responsibilities of and restrictions on the government, not the individual, or his or her opinion.

When asked by Chuck Todd whether a president’s faith should matter, Carson never said a Muslim should be prohibited from holding the office, just that he would not advocate for it.

Carson didn’t and hasn’t said that the government can prevent a Muslim from being president.

But either the press doesn’t understand the difference or they are the back-stabbing “gotcha” sacks of dirt we know them to be. Which one is it? Well, it’s probably the latter. This appears to be a conscious effort to drive a wedge between two conservatives. Want proof? read more

How Will Corporate America Ever Survive Without the Export-Import Bank?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

To listen to the wails from Democrats and the socialistic “financial media,” you’d think business will cease to exist in America. Certainly American corporations will no longer be able to compete on a global scale without the help of our government.

You see, the big meanie conservative Republicans in the House allowed the Export-Import bank authorization to lapse – so now, other than previously agreed-upon commitments, the bank is no more.

Last week General Electric, one of the largest corporations on the planet, “announced it would create 500 jobs in France instead of the United States because it can no longer access the kind of financing once offered by the now shuttered agency.”

“Congress left us no choice when it failed to reauthorize the Ex-Im bank this summer,” said John Rice, G.E.’s vice chairman. You do have a choice Mr. Rice – but I’ll address that in a bit.

The liberal Fiscal Times felt the need to add: “but G.E.’s announcements suggest that more companies may start blaming Congress for destroying American jobs.”

Guess they got that right out of the Democrat playbook. It is widely known that the spineless Republican leadership can’t stomach criticism. But to that, my man Ted Cruz said: “I understand the crony capitalism is an easier way to do business, simply getting politicians in Washington to carve out billions in favors for giant corporations, but it’s not what Congress should be doing.” read more
