Podcast – Take a Breath Over Trump’s Shifting Rhetoric – Surge in Illegal Crossings

Can we just calm down and take a breath regarding what Trump is now saying compared to what he claimed on the campaign trail and during the debates with Hillary. Trump will be the only complete unknown elected official in Washington. Despite what “experts” claim, no one has a clue what he will do, so why waste time worrying about it. He should receive, by everyone, a 100% clean slate going in. After he makes some actual decisions on policy, we can either applaud him for keeping his word, or call him out for not.

It’s being reported that there has been a huge surge of illegal alien crossing over the past month or so, with almost 50,000 apprehended in the month of October alone. Could it that the flood of illegals is due to the election Donald Trump? Could be. Perhaps illegals read the New York Times and are convinced that if they make it here, all will be forgiven. read more

Obama Justice Insists on Non-Citizen Police

I think we can all agree that being a police officer, especially in any of our major cities, is one the most demanding and dangerous jobs one can have these days. Short of conducting a house to house in some Middle Eastern hell hole, where one can be ambushed at any time, being a big city cop is about as dangerous and stressful as it gets.
Police everywhere have become targets of the insane and hate-filled left.

We should all be thankful that they remain courageous and committed to upholding the law. Without them, some of our cities would have become sites of the next “Purge” long ago – descending into violence and anarchy.

I know my fair share of city cops, and I can tell you – it takes a certain type of individual to wish to don the uniform everyday, knowing what could be in store for them. These men and women are exceptional citizens who fight the good fight because it’s the right thing.

Not everyone can or should aspire to become a cop. It takes a unique set of skills – some can be taught – some are just innate. Therefore, the heads of these police departments are always on the look out for exceptional individuals – either within their present ranks or new hires. That’s the way it should be. But today, the way things should be and reality rarely mesh. read more

Liberal Hypocrisy Never Takes a Day Off

Now that Donald Trump has become the president elect, we should assume no shortage of leftist double standards to come. As the republicans will now have control of the legislative and executive branches, the expectation is that they will use the same governmental procedures to roll back Obama’s oppressive agenda items that the dems used to implement them.

From the democrats, we should then fully anticipate cries of foul play. As Trump rolls back the illegal executive actions thrust on us by Obama, the left will inexplicably conclude that he has not the authority to just write decrees. We’ll have to wait and see on that, but one such double-standard has already surfaced, months before Trump taking office.

I take you back to last spring, when the State of North Carolina had the nerve to pass a law stating that if you were born a male, you must use only the male restrooms and locker rooms, and vice versa. I still cannot believe that was and is controversial. To the left however, anything which attempts to maintain American or even reasonable human values is somehow abhorrent, and must be disassembled or destroyed in favor of the lunatic fringe. read more

Bilingual Education is Making a Comeback in California

by: the Common Constitutionalist

The election is fast approaching. If one were just returning to America from a long space journey, one would think the only thing on the upcoming November ballot was the “binary choice” (who else hates that term) for President between two extremely flawed candidates. The Senate and Congressional races have received relatively scant attention – and still less attention has been paid to the many ballot initiatives, no doubt, in all 57 (h/t Barack Obama) states.

These state initiatives can be quite important and some may have eventual carry-over to other states, and nationwide. One such proposal in California is Proposition 58, otherwise known as the “LEARN” initiative. It is being promoted  as “yet another step towards righting the wrongs growing out of a wave of anti-multicultural sentiment during the 1990s.”

You might be thinking – so what – I live on the East Coast. What do I care what those whacky Californians do. Well, like many of the most ludicrous federal proposals – they began at the state level and progressive California, as ground zero for wackiness, is often the tip of the spear, so to speak.

Proposition 58, builds upon another bill which was passed in 2014, called the “The California Education for a Global Economy Initiative,” which “empowers parents ‘to choose a language acquisition program that best suits their child’ and requires districts with sufficient numbers of English language learners (ELLs) to launch the multilingual programs.” read more

Texas Beats Obama on Illegal Immigration

The good guys finally won one! Well – kind of. We have at least temporarily beaten back the Obama forces of evil – the pro-illegal alien crowd.

To further clarify, we didn’t actually do anything. The supreme Court, with is deadlocked eight current members, did the job for us.

Yesterday, the eight member court failed to muster a majority of votes to rehear the case concerning Obama’s stalled Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) amnesty scheme.

To review, DACA was illegally decreed by Obama in June of 2012. It allows that illegal immigrants who came to the United States as children and meet several guidelines may request consideration of deferred action for a period of two years, subject to renewal. They are also eligible for work authorization. In other words, call it what they will – but it’s ultimately a form of amnesty. read more

ILLEGAL INVASION TRANSFORMS SOUTHERN TOWN

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Albertville is a relatively rural community in Northeast Alabama, about 80 miles north of Birmingham. For well over a century this small town of a little over 20,000 was known for one thing – fire hydrants – specifically Mueller Company fire hydrants.

But things have changed in Albertville. Many would say not for the better. One such resident is 42-year-old Sandra Langlois. She would be considered part of the white working class and is unable to find employment. And the reason? “I can’t find a job because I don’t speak Spanish,” she says. read more

Democrats Created Institutional Racism

Oh Colin. Do we have to keep talking about Colin Kapernick, the bench-warming back-up Quarterback of the hapless San Francisco 49ers? I guess it’s this or the most momentous debate in the history of humanity, or any species – terrestrial or otherwise.

As I’m writing this on Monday evening for publication on Tuesday, I really can’t comment on the debate, as it hasn’t happened yet. Short of Hillary collapsing on stage or having some sort of seizure, I don’t predict anything too momentous coming out of it anyway. I will predict that both Hillary and The Donald clearly won the debate, according to CNN (Hillary) and Fox News (Trump). That’s a pretty safe prediction.

Back to Kapernick. According to the American Spectator, we are once again a nation divided along racial lines and Kapernick appears to be the new poster boy for this apparent black-separatist movement. The Spectator cites a poll conducted recently by E-Poll Market Research, which showed that Kapernick was liked “a lot” by only 16 percent of blacks just two years ago, but that it has rocketed to 42%.

Blacks are angry and evidently see him as a beacon, shining a light (but not a white light) on American institutional racism, of which we know there is none. Actually, that’s not entirely true and I’ll get to that in a moment. read more

See – Government can be Efficient – When it Comes to Admitting Muslim Refugees

by: the Common Constitutionalist

So the federal government really can be efficient – when it wants to. I guess it just must not want to very often.

I supposed we could say that August is a banner month for the government. Yesterday I wrote  that Barack’s plan for Obamacare was for it to collapse under its own weight, to then be replaced by a utopian single payer entirely government healthcare system – that this was the plan of the progressives all along. Obama said years ago that he thought might take 10 or 15 years or more to get to that point, but as I wrote – here we are, a mere six years in, with a system already imploding far ahead of schedule. That’s progress!

Today we hear of yet another milestone for the government. They are at least a month ahead of schedule on another major Obama project. Is it rebuilding our infrastructure? No. Is it putting people back to work? Nope. Is it reeducation camps for constitutionalists? No – none of those.

It was announced yesterday that the Obama administration reached its goal of admitting 10,000 Middle Eastern refugees  into the United States. Hooray! That’s six times more than in 2015. Hooray again! read more

Candidate Trump on Immigration – Which One do We Believe

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Trump says he will follow the immigration laws. Actually – no he didn’t. Trump stated in his town hall interview with Sean Hannity: “We wanna follow the laws. You know we have very strong laws…in this country…and I don’t know if you know but Bush and even Obama sends people back. We can be more aggressive in that, but we want to follow the laws.” Want to and will are not synonymous.

Before I go any further, I wish to state that this is not a bash-Trump article. Readers know I am not a Trump guy, but I am not treating Trump any different than I would any candidate, on either side. I am only attempting to be intellectually honest and consistent.

I was all for Trump’s original immigration policy. I’m thankful he brought it up in the first place. And we constitutionalists are still in favor of his original policy. If you are here illegally, you must go – period. There was no time frame attached to his original claim – nor is there a statute of limitations in the myriad of immigration laws on the books.

If The Donald does what he originally said he would do, which earned him the nomination and the dedicated following he has, he would in fact be adhering to the immigration laws. And he would be the first one since Eisenhower in 1954 to do so. On this I defended Trump about this time last year. read more

I’d Cast My Vote for Trump’s Speechwriter

by: the Common Constitutionalist

On his Monday evening radio program, Mark Levin spoke of Donald Trump’s foreign policy/immigration speech. He said: “Trump gave a pretty good speech today and people ought to listen to it. When he’s focused – when he’s on message – and when he says things that most of us agree with, we ought to acknowledge that – if we’re going to be intellectually honest.”

This may be the first time I’ve kind of disagreed with Mark. I, like Mark and many true conservatives who haven’t yet partaken of the Trump Kool-Aid, thought it was a great speech – probably the best he’s done. But this wasn’t a Trump speech. It was measured and well thought out, lacking (most of) the usual bombast – a speech I personally don’t believe Trump could write himself. And that’s my problem. I’m not sure this is Trump’s message – at least not consistently.

We’ve all heard Trump speak extemporaneously and it’s not pretty. It used to be effective, but now it’s just tiresome and repetitive. But lately he has confined himself, for the most part, to reading teleprompter speeches – which is much better for him.

However, it is painfully obvious when he strays from the prompter. He repeats himself – he overemphasizes his statements to the point where they sound cartoonish. He then either run’s out of exclamations or realizes he’s strayed and it’s back on the teleprompter. read more
