Podcast – Chuck Schumer Goes Off On Republicans Over RINOCare

Today I discuss Senate Minority Leader Chuckie Schumer, who had some choice words for President Trump, Speaker Ryan and the Republicans over their failed plan on Friday.

He complained that the GOP never even approached him regarding fixing ObamaCare. Instead they just froze out the dems and tried to go it alone – and failed. He’s says he’s not happy about it, but we know that’s a laugh. The dems are thrilled.

I explain that ObamaCare was written to fail, and that any effort by the Republicans to “fix” it, will be useless. It must be repealed in full. read more

Phase One Goes Down in Flames

I’ve been watching the tube (that’s a television, for all you younger readers) and listening to the radio, collecting reaction to the Ryan health insurance proposal. The Democrats aside – it seems there was strong support for the bill.

The establishment Republicans were all on board, as well as die hard Trump supporters.

Then there were the House Freedom Caucus members, who were firmly against it. The most vocal Senate opponents were the usual suspects and real conservatives, Mike Lee, Ted Cruz and Rand Paul. Count me in their camp.

Not surprisingly, virtually everyone on a certain cable news channel supported the Ryan bill – not for Ryan’s sake, but because president Trump was on board. What I did find a little surprising and a bit disturbing is that the majority of conservative radio talkers were also for the bill. Check that. They weren’t backing Ryan and the bill. They appeared to be on board in defense of Trump’s decision to support it. To me this seems misguided and frankly sycophantic.

I still hold that president Trump was sold a bill of goods by Republicans. Sure, he’s a smart guy, but even smart guys can be fooled. read more

Yes Virginia – America Does Have Free Market Medical Care

by: the Common Constitutionalist

What is the number one complaint amongst conservatives regarding healthcare? That it is completely void of the free market. Whether it is ObamaCare, or what we currently know of RyanCare, for all intents and purposes, the free market simply doesn’t exist.

We on the right understand that free market forces like competition and innovation are the keystones to any successful industry – any mutually beneficial transaction. Insurance is no different.

Health Insurance, which, to reiterate for the thousandth time, is not healthcare, anymore than auto insurance equals car repair, etc. We would never think of attempting to use our auto insurance for a tire change or a new muffler. Yet we don’t think twice about using our health insurance when we see a doctor for the common cold.

And why? Simple, as we know. It’s called third party payer, or worse, single payer. As long as we perceive that someone, the insurance company, will pay for the visit, we don’t ask what the charges are before service is rendered. We don’t ask after the services are rendered, nor do most even care. It’s the antithesis of the free market. read more

Using stem cells to create insulin-producing beta cells that could be transplanted into diabetics is being investigated as a possible cure for type 1 diabetes and treatment for type 2, but new research suggests that a special diet could reprogram cells in the pancreas to do the same thing. read more

Trump May End Up Owning RyanCare

by: the Common Constitutionalist

If Paul Ryan’s ObamaCare-lite bill makes it to president Trump’s desk in any form close to what it is now and he signs, it will become Trump’s healthcare debacle. Although it should be called RyanCare or CowardCare, it will ultimately end up as what I coined on Wednesday – O-DonaldCare.

And this is the shame of it. The president can’t know everything, so he must rely on honest brokers to give him an accurate account of various bills. Rand Paul, who is steadfast against the Republican bill, thinks the Republicans, particularly Paul Ryan, are not being accurate or honest with Trump. My buddy, Onan Coca at Constitution.com quotes Paul saying: “I don’t think it makes any sense and I think he’s [Ryan] trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the president.”

Unfortunately that’s just the way it works. Presidents get congratulated on everything good that happens on their watch, but also get hung, rightly or wrongly, by any failures. Few will remember or care that this sham started with Paul Ryan, anymore than we recall that Obama didn’t draft ObamaCare. Yet no one calls that GruberCare, after its architect, Jonathan Gruber, do they. All that will matter is that Trump promoted it and ultimately signed it, so it’s his baby – Rosemary’s baby!

Now I must admit, that in my haste to rush my initial reaction out to the Republican bill, I didn’t do justice to just how bad this thing is and I also was inaccurate on a point or two. If you care to go back and read it you may do so here.

I also admit that I am not personally privy to all that is in the Republican replacement bill, so must therefore rely on experts I trust to do that leg-work for me. read more

Ladies and Gentlemen – I Give You O-DonaldCare

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Yesterday, I received this email from the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).

BREAKING
House Republicans just introduced an Obamacare replacement.

Sign on to support the Repeal and Replacement of Obamacare >>>

Brent — You elected President Trump and House Republicans to repeal Obamacare.

Now, after 7 years of Democrats’ blocking our efforts, House Republicans just introduced a replacement for Obamacare.

The only thing that stands in the way now is the Democrats’ obstruction tactics.

ADD YOUR NAME: Show your support for the repeal and replacement of Obamacare >>>

Needless to say, I did not sign on to show my support for O-DonaldCare.

And Why? Simple – because this is not a repeal bill. Repeal means to revoke or withdraw from something. This bill does neither. And it says it right there: “House Republicans just introduced a replacement for Obamacare.” It just replaces socialist Democrat crap with progressive Republican crap. read more

ObamaCare is Great – According to Only 22 Percent of Americans

from IBD:

The need for an overhaul of ObamaCare just got more acute, as a new survey shows that satisfaction rates among those enrolled in ObamaCare plans has taken a steep nose-dive this year amid premium hikes and reduced choices.

The new coverage of ObamaCare these days has been all about protests against repeal and the alleged increase in public support for the law.

But a survey of actual ObamaCare customers released this week paints an entirely different picture.

It found that just 22% of the 44,200 ObamaCare enrollees polled rate their health plan as good to excellent. That’s down from 77% who gave their ObamaCare plans high marks last year. read more

Conservatives Insist on Full Repeal of Obamacare

Hooray for Real Conservatives! Hopefully they will all stick to their guns and hold Leadership’s feet to the fire, so they do what they promised and successfully voted on in 2015.

from Breitbart:

Sen. Rand Paul, Rep. Mark Meadows, and Rep. Jim Jordan spoke with reporters Tuesday to discuss their opposition to any legislation that does not fully repeal Obamacare.
Senator Paul (R-KY) said:

Basically, conservatives are coalescing around a complete repeal. Conservatives want no less than to vote on what they did a year ago with the 2015 repeal bill. I think that we have to votes now to tell the leadership that this is what we want to do. read more

Is Obamacare Here to Stay

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Scroll Down for Audio Version

What’s the hold up!! Why do we have to wait to repeal Obamacare? Anyone with a brain can see that it is total disaster. Of course anyone with a brain knew from the beginning that it was expressly designed to be a total disaster – that the master plan, or scheme, was to have Obamacare, in it’s current form, fail, thus clearing the way to a single payer, full-blown, socialist healthcare system.

Those on the left knew. Pelosi knew – which is the reason she said “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it…” The architect, Jonathan Gruber, certainly knew, as he admitted they had to lie about it and hope that Americans were as dumb as he hoped they were.

Now that we can repeal it, the Republicans have attempted to change the narrative from repeal and replace to repair and fix. Well – we aren’t buying it.

“You spineless, gutless, timid politicians. (The Republicans) have all three. They have the White House, the Senate, and the House. What’s their excuse now?” Sean Hannity asked. He also echoed our sentiment that they are now proposing to, “repeal and repair the disastrous health care law.” read more
