You Say Islamist – I Say Wahhabist

by: the Common Constitutionalist

According to Saudi’s Arabia’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdul Aziz al-Asheikh, both ISIS and al-Qaeda are enemy number one. I guess he couldn’t choose just one. Maybe it’s one of those 1 and 1A kinds of things.

Off topic as it is – who chooses the names for these characters anyway? Do they get to choose? If so, why must they always be so long? Could you imagine having to endorse a check or sign one of the tiny electronic keypads at the grocery store – or signing autographs for the Grand Mufti groupies? Sheesh!

Anyway, the Mufti – oh excuse me – the Grand Mufti stated emphatically that, “The ideas of extremism, radicalism and terrorism … have nothing to do with Islam and (their proponents) are the enemy number one of Islam.”

Yet about the time he was condemning the two terror groups for their barbarism, he was signing off on one of the largest mass executions in the country’s history. They executed 47 “criminals.” Among these criminals was a Shiite cleric, Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr (again with the names). This did not please Shiite Iran, as response to the executions, they attacked and burned the Saudi embassy in Tehran.

No one knows exactly what  their “crimes” were – only that the verdict against the “47 criminals was based on Allah’s Book and the Prophet’s Sunnah.” read more

This Muslim Defines Courage

The Common Constitutionalist is branching out. In addition to my daily blog and a number of sites I already contribute to, I’ve been asked to write an exclusive weekly commentary article for the popular national conservative website, World Net Daily. Naturally I accepted. I’d be a fool not to. I am joining the likes of Ted Nugent, Ann Coulter and Judge Andrew Napolitano.

Once a week I will provide a few paragraphs of my latest article and a link to the WND site.

Courage is defined as the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery. I would disagree, but only slightly. Courage can also be defined as acting bravely in the face of fear. One can be fearful, yet still act courageously. read more

A Father Takes a Stand Against the Culture of Death

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I’m sure most of us remember the heart-wrenching saga of Terri Schiavo in Florida. In March of 2005, Terri, after doctors pronounced her to be in a permanent vegetative state, despite the fact that she required no life support in the form of breathing tubes or such, her estranged and total bag of crap husband petitioned for and received permission from a judge to pull her feeding and hydration tube so he could collect on her insurance policy. It took 13 days for Terri to finally succumb in rather agonizing fashion. This past March, on the tenth anniversary of her death, Rush Limbaugh declared her death “the day our country hit rock bottom.”

Despite Terri’s family’s willingness to take her home and care for her, the judge still granted the gruesome death sentence. It reminds me of a couple of articles I wrote in 2013 entitled, “Grim Reaper on Wheels” and “Euthanasia Isn’t a Death Penalty…Apparently.”

In them I chronicled the rise of roving death squads in the Netherlands which traveled the countryside euthanizing its citizens and that the practice was gaining traction in other European countries. The Dutch government’s view was that for some who, according to authorities, were suffering – it was for the sufferer’s own good and the good of society. In 2013, “1 in 30 deaths in the Netherlands are [were] from euthanasia.” As of 2013, Holland had six full time “Death Squads.” read more

Witness the Tolerance of Islam

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I’d like build upon the article I wrote yesterday entitled, “Stop Making Excuses for Islam.” In it I expressed my frustration over the constant refrain from Islam apologists that “That Is Not Islam,” every time a Muslim expresses his intolerance of something outside his “faith.”

I am reminded of the idiotic remark said by president Obama in Egypt while on his infamous “Apology Tour” of 2009.  Actually, he said a lot of stupid things like, “The relationship between Islam and the West includes centuries of coexistence and cooperation, but also conflict and religious wars.” Well, he’s half right, but it certainly isn’t the “coexistence and cooperation” part.

But what should have garnered the biggest laugh was this:

“I’ve come here to Cairo to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world, one based on mutual interest and mutual respect, and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles — principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.” read more

Islam – Is it Better to Be Safe or Consistent

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I have to apologize. As conservatives, particularly social conservatives, we’ve been all wet on the topic of religion – mainly Christianity and Islam.

We say one can’t possibly be a true Christian if, for example, one appears to accept abortion, the taking of an innocent life, as just some women’s issue, or a political football.

We chide people like John Kerry and Nancy Pelosi for not living the faith they profess – saying there is no such thing as an a-la-carte Catholic. You either are or are not. It’s not a judgment – it’s just a fact. It’s like being a man or a woman. You are one or the other. It’s just fact.

We evidently want them to adhere to their faith – obey the word of their God and stop cherry picking – yet we wish the exact opposite for those of another faith – that being Islam.

I wrote in an article just the other day and in it I stated that being a Muslim is itself not antithetical to our Constitution or American Judeo-Christian values, but being an Islamist is. Well, I’m not too proud to say I was wrong.

We conservatives can’t have it both ways. The left can and does – be we can’t – or shouldn’t. We can’t complain about self-proclaimed Catholics like Kerry not living his faith but give a pass to Muslims. Worse – we not only give them a pass, but celebrate them for the courage to not adhere to their faith and to the words of their Holy book, the Quran. read more

The Muslim Brotherhood Five-Step Program to Domination

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Alcoholics Anonymous has its 12-step program to conquer the demon drink. The Black Panther Party has a 10 point program. There is a four step, five and 10 step program for quitting smoking and a 10 step program for weight loss. Everywhere we look there is a “step” program to accomplish some goal.

Religions also have “step” programs. There are the nine steps to convert to Judaism and 13 steps to convert to Catholicism. Even radical Islam has a “step” program.

Yes, the Muslim Brotherhood, the originator of modern-day terrorism, from which all modern Islamic terror was born, has a five step program, or strategic plan, to take over Western nations, including the United States, and subjugate all its citizens, for all to submit to Sharia law.

The plan is called “Civilization Jihad.” This five-step (or phase) plan was crafted by Mohammed Akram, a senior Hamas leader in the United States and board member of the Muslim Brotherhood of North America, and approved by its Shura Council in 1987.

Their mission statement is as follows:

“The process of settlement is a ‘Civilization-Jihadist Process’ with all the word means. The Ikhwan must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

Sponsoring the Agents of Our Own Demise

by: the Common Constitutionalist

According to U.S. Census Data, “the United States admits roughly 100,000 Muslim immigrants legally each year, representing the fastest growing block of [legal] immigration into the United States.”

“Pew Research has estimated that immigration will cause the population of U.S. Muslims to more than double over the next two decades—from 2.6 million in 2010 to 6.2 million in 2030. This demographic change is entirely the product of legal admissions – that is, it is a formal policy of the federal government adopted by Congress.”

And over 50% of Muslims currently residing in America believe they have a choice of being governed by Sharia, instead of the Constitution and U.S. law. Their reasoning is that the Constitution was written by man, whereas Sharia is the law of Allah. As their population expands, we should expect that percentage to grow.

Similarly, National Review reported , “Dearborn, Michigan is home to just under 100,000 people, about 40 percent of whom are Muslim. In 2013, a leaked government document revealed that more people from Dearborn were on the federal terrorist watch list than from any other city except New York,” and NYC has a population of well over 8 million. read more

Prosperity Must Be Explained

from Dr. Thomas Sowell:

Pope Francis has created political controversy, both inside and outside the Catholic Church, by blaming capitalism for many of the problems of the poor. We can no doubt expect more of the same during his visit to the United States.
Pope Francis is part of a larger trend of the rise of the political left among Catholic intellectuals. He is, in a sense, the culmination of that trend. read more

Obama – So What If He Is a Muslim?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

So what’s wrong with being Muslim? Is there something inherently bad about being Muslim? If someone claimed I was a Jew, would I get all defensive? Or would I simply correct him or her, that I am a Christian. I certainly wouldn’t get all huffy, resentful and accusatory over it.

Would my friends and relatives come to my aid, exclaiming how dare you call him a Jew? No. Any reasonable person would merely correct the error and go on their way.

But the liberal press loudly condemns Donald Trump for not just not correcting the audience member who called Obama a Muslim, but for, by his relative silence, implying that Obama is indeed a Muslim.

So what if Obama were a Muslim? How would that change anything? It was 4 1/2 years ago, in an early 2011 speech at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, Obama recounted working with churches in Chicago in his days as a community organizer and how he “came to know Jesus Christ for myself and embrace him as my Lord and Savior. My Christian faith then has been a sustaining force for me over these last few years, all the more so when Michelle and I hear our faith questioned from time to time. We are reminded that, ultimately, what matters is not what other people say about us, but whether we’re being true to our conscience and true to our God.” As far as I can find, this is the last instance of Obama affirming his Christian faith.

So I ask again – what if Obama were a Muslim? Would it matter? Would it make any difference to his policies?

He sure does have an affinity for Islam, which, by all accounts, is pretty odd for a Christian, particularly these days. read more

The Case of the Irving Islamaphobes

by: the Common Constitutionalist

So there was an incident at an Irving Texas high school the other day. Apparently it ended up being much ado about nothing. It seems a 14-year-old boy built a clock from scratch and brought it to school to impress his teachers.

Evidently, Ahmed Mohamed, who is a bit of electronics whiz, built the digital clock from parts he bought and had lying around. He then brought the clock into school and showed one of his teachers who thought it was pretty cool. The next teacher he showed, however impressed, was also a bit alarmed.

See, the “clock” didn’t look like any clock you, I, or the teacher had ever seen. In fact, the “clock” looked more like a bomb than a clock. That’s when things got a little dicey.

Evidently, the teacher confiscated the “clock” and someone called the police, who showed up, handcuffed the kid, and took him to a room inside the school to be interrogated.

The police told him that he was being detained and questioned over what they described as a “hoax bomb.” Shortly thereafter the cries of racism and Islamophobia began.

One of his older sisters began a Twitter campaign entitled “#IStandWithAhmed.” It has picked up over 500,000 mentions and re-tweets. If I were to guess, I’d say virtually none of these twitter followers have any clue about what happened, and are just typical liberal lemmings looking for the latest cause. read more
