Muslims vs Christians – Round Whatever

by: the Common Constitutionalist

It’s been the same old song for centuries – Muslims versus Christians. Actually, I suppose more accurately put would be Muslims versus – well, everyone else – Christians, Jews, Hindus, atheists – everyone. No other religion or community can coexist with adherent Muslims.

But more and more it is the Christians who incur the wrath of Muslims worldwide. It’s almost as if Muslims are trying to purge Christians from the world, particularly the Middle East and the surrounding regions.

Take Pakistan for example. There is a village in that country where the Muslim leadership has issued an ultimatum to all Christians living in Manta Bahauddin’s Chak 44. Heck of a name for a village, I know. And to make matters worse, if that’s possible, the Muslim majority has demanded the immediate surrender of a Christian for the horrific crime of watching a blasphemous video on his phone.

Naturally the child will stand trial and if found guilty, the youth will be forced to pay a fine and maybe do some community service. To us this still doesn’t exactly sound like reasonable punishment for simply viewing what the Muslim majority deemed as “blasphemous,” but it’s not terrible. True enough – if that’s what is planned for the young man. read more

Being American is a Microaggression

By: the Common Constitutionalist

On college campuses, it’s evidently a “microaggression” to call yourself an American.

It’s becoming increasingly difficult not to offend the poor little snot-nosed whiners who call themselves college students. Almost everything is an affront to their fragile sensibilities. What ever happened to Universities challenging convention and the ability and freedom on campus for free expression?

Unfortunately things have come full circle where there is no free thought or expression and the convention is hyper-sensitivity.

Now, I may be out of touch with current politically correct vernacular, but isn’t the term “Queer” considered derogatory to homosexuals? I thought it was, yet at the University of Virginia (UVA) there is a student organization which calls itself the “Queer Student Union” (QSU). Huh.

They describe themselves thusly: “The Queer Student Union at the University of Virginia is Charlottesville’s oldest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning individuals. As such, we strive to provide a safe, welcoming, and confidential environment for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and queer individuals in the community. We also organize services, activities, and social programs for the student population at UVA, with an emphasis on queer culture and social thought. As the largest LGBTQ group on Grounds, we work to represent and advocate LGBTQ students’ concerns to the University’s administration, alumni/ae, and the local government.” read more

My WND Weekly Exclusive

Is it time for Israel to kick them all out?

Frankly, if it were up to me, I’d kick them all out. It’s evident none of the Arabs who surround Israel want peace with the Jewish nation, and all at one time or another have refused even to recognize its existence.

Since its founding in 1948, the state of Israel has always wanted peace with its Arab neighbors. It is the Arab nations who have been threatening, provoking or outright warring with them.

To prove this to be so, one need only ask him or herself: If the Arabs all laid down their arms tomorrow, what would Israel do? Of course, nothing. They would live in peace. Now ask yourself if Israel did the same, what the Arabs would do. They would attack the following day, if they waited that long. This is all one needs to know about the dynamics of the region. read more

Genderless Bathrooms – It’s the Agenda Stupid

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Our country has fallen head first into the crapper when people from the left and right can’t see the problem with letting transgendered men and women use whatever bathroom, locker room and shower they wish.

What the heck is wrong with us? There seems to be so very few left with the combination of courage and conviction. Instead it’s been replaced with cowardice and expedience. And ditto regarding common sense.

Let’s first set the record straight on one thing. A transgendered man is still physically, anatomically a man and vice versa for a woman. The dictionary definition of transgender is: “noting or relating to a person whose gender identity does not correspond to that person’s biological sex assigned at birth.”

But this is not how we think of the transgendered. More likely when the average person hears the term transgender, they automatically think of someone who was once a man and is now a woman and vice versa. Obviously, according to the definition, this is not correct. read more

Is Just Being a Normal American Not Enough Anymore?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

A few years ago an article was posted entitled, “The Problem With Average Not Being Good Enough.”

The author, Brianna Wiest, attempted to explain the current human condition of many young people. Although she never explicitly stated it regarded young adults, I surmised it must be so being that she spoke of college and other concerns that millennials and generation whatever follows appear to have.

The article was a bit confusing at times but the gist was that unapologetically being yourself and not particularly special is not a bad thing. In other words (I think) one does not have to bow to social pressure or strive to be exceptional just to be noticed – that being “average” is not so bad.

While I disagreed with a lot of her “average is good enough,” assuming I understood the new age speak, her premise, whether she knows it or not, is quite prescient, but not in the way she thinks. read more

Is It Time for the Country To Voluntarily Segregate?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

What am I trying to do – purposely ignite a powder keg or something? Am I actually proposing bringing back segregation? No – I’m not, but some are. By their speeches and actions – some are.

First, let’s look at the state of our nation. In every major city there are places like little Italy, Chinatown, Koreatown, Little Havana, etc. – entire sprawling neighborhoods representing a certain other-than-American nationality. Then there are “unnamed” segregated neighborhoods predominantly comprised of whites, Latinos, blacks, etc.

But this is America and last I checked, one can reside anywhere one chooses, assuming one can afford it. Yet people for the most part choose to live and associate with others of similar interest, heritage, etc. It’s human nature. If you exclusively play football, you will more than likely not hang out with those who exclusively play chess. There is nothing wrong with it. Again – it’s human nature.

But what if the Chess Community begins to resent the Football Community? What if at some point the Chess team begins an interminably long losing streak? They lose every match – even to the clubs they should beat. Over time, they can’t remember their last win.

Logically some introspection would be in order. The coaching staff, assuming they have such a thing, must examine themselves and their methods. The players must do the same. Obviously something is wrong with the internals of the team. read more

Iron Mike Ditka Pays the Price for Being Conservative

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Sheeesh! This is second time this week I’ve written about Rush Limbaugh. It does have to do with politics, but thankfully it doesn’t concern the presidential election or the never-ending primary season. I know it’s of vital importance, but frankly the never ending daily doses of it are getting a bit old.

So let’s instead turn our attention to something sports related – sports as it relates to politics.

Some of you may remember that Rush Limbaugh did a short stint as a commentator on the sports network ESPN. If you don’t, that’s okay. It was after all 13 years ago. In 2000 Limbaugh was passed over for a seat on the ABC Monday Night Football crew. They instead went with Dennis Miller. That worked out well – NOT.

Three years later he was offered a position on ESPN’s flagship broadcast, “NFL Sunday Night Countdown,” joining Chris Berman, Tom Jackson, Steve Young and Michael Irvin. I recall Rush telling his radio audience that they told him he could speak about anything – that there would be virtually no filter. And he believed them – silly guy. read more

Podcast – The Republican Convention – Rule 40 and Mitt Romney – The Pope Lectures us on Mass Migration

Rule 40Today I discuss the upcoming Republican Convention, the now infamous convention Rule 40(b) and how the establishment has purposely corrupted the process and rigged the system to get the guy they want, regardless of the will of the people.

In segment two the discussion turns to the mass Syrian migration into Europe. The Pope, Pope Francis, Pope migrationgives us his thoughts on the matter of what he calls the “Arab Invasion” and somehow he considers this is a good thing.

And the Oscar Went to – Tribal Thinking

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Last week British singer/songwriter Sam Smith won an Oscar for the theme song of the latest James Bond film Spectre. From what I understand of the ratings, not many (including me) saw it, so let me recap his acceptance speech, which I found on YouTube.

He said he read an article written by some other British guy that no openly gay man had ever won an Oscar. Smith (no relation – I hope) said whether this was true or not, he’d still like to dedicate his award to the LGBT community all around the world. He continued by saying: “I stand here as a proud gay man and I hope we can all stand together as equals one day.”

After the merriment subsided, people took to Twitter and such to correct Smith that he wasn’t the first. Of course he said he may not be, but that didn’t matter to the low information crowd who watch these displays of self-aggrandizement.

Smith responded to the criticism by saying: “Second openly gay man to win an Oscar or third or fourth or 100th, it wasn’t my point. My point was to shine some light on the LGBT community who I love so dearly.” read more

Stickers and Ribbons May only Support the Left

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Hollywood does a lot these days to drive America’s liberal social narrative. They are normally at the forefront of every wacky feel-good leftist cause. Leonardo DiCaprio took the little time allotted for his first Oscar acceptance speech to preach his global warming nonsense.

DiCaprio said: “Making The Revenant was about man’s relationship to the natural world. A world that we collectively felt in 2015 as the hottest year in recorded history. Our production needed to move to the southern tip of this planet just to be able to find snow.” He added: “Climate change is real, it is happening right now.”

Well Leo, you neglected to add that most of the movie was filmed in Canada during the winter when there was plenty of snow. But production delays pushed some of the shooting into July. That would be the middle of the summer, when historically there is NO SNOW! So I agree – climate change is real. It really changes from winter to summer every year.

Still, no one makes a fuss over his inane comments. No one argues that he should not be able to make such statements, regardless of their intelligence.

The same goes for another Hollywood intellectual lightweight – Eva Longoria, in her support for the Latino community. She insisted that everyone at the Oscars make a statement of solidarity by wearing a brown ribbon in support of Latinos. Her cause is to underscore the lack of Latinos working in films and TV. read more
