March For Our Lives is a Nothing Burger

Guest Post by John Velisek, USN (ret.):

Saturday was the day of the “March For Our Lives,” which transformed into an all-out anti-gun, anti-2nd amendment and anti-Trump movement. Taking place in cities all across the country and funded by anti-gun left wing organizations, it will become a debacle that did not need to occur.

Ostensibly created by the Parkland school youth, it is now working with adults from leftist organizers like March for Women Live Action Fund, MoveOn.org, The Giffords group, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, and of course Everytown, Bloomberg’s gun confiscation group who have spewed lies since the time of the Parkland shooting.

And who can explain why a meeting was held in Broward County by someone named Debby Miller, who introduced herself as a representative of the Giffords Foundation? I thought this was all put in place by the altruistic students. And why were school funds, a taxpayer resource, used for the printing of itinerary for the March?

Students, with little knowledge and even less understanding, will take to the streets to demand that more action be taken. Ignoring the fact that there are thousands of gun laws already on the books, and those suggested would not have stopped these actions. A School Resource Officer (SRO) could have prevented parkland, or at least mitigated it, but he was under orders to maintain a perimeter and too cowardly to take matters into his own hands and save lives. Maryland had shooting as well. Law enforcement stopped that. There needs to be armed security of some type in our schools. Any school shooting that has a massacre of the kind in the past will have to explain to the parents of those harmed why there was not adequate security. read more

Less People Watching Because Hollywood is too Political

from Constitution.com:

Liberalism Killed the Radio Star… and the TV star… and the Movie and Sports Stars, Too

Liberalism is fast destroying the entirety of the entertainment sector in the U.S. today, from movies and TV, to sports, to publishing. But the amazing thing is that these media sectors don’t care even a tiny bit that their popularity and finances are eroding faster than a sand castle at high tide.

A new poll by McLaughlin & Associates and the Media Research Center reveals a shocking statistic:  Fully 44 percent of Americans are less likely to watch sports and entertainment shows “because they have become too political.” read more

Can Trump Finally End Handouts to Liberal Artists?

Art transcends politics. Isn’t that the saying?

Well, it may have, but hasn’t been for a while now. And with the election of Donald Trump as president, it seems the opposite is true.

I think we can all recall a little more than a year ago when the left was positively giddy over the fact that, “While Obama’s [inaugural] concert included the likes of Beyoncé, U2, Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen – ‘Trump’s Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration’ will be marked by lower-wattage stars,” and that, “Singers who have agreed to perform at Trump’s inauguration have faced widespread backlash. Others associated with the event we’re forced to back away, while some have come out saying they wouldn’t perform even if asked.”

This past year it seems, more than any time before, that “art” equals politics. read more

Lamb Campaigned as a Republican – When Will Dems Start Attacking Him

from IBD:

So, When Will Democrats Start Brutally Attacking Gun-Loving Conor Lamb?

While viciously attacking Republicans for opposing gun control, Democrats are celebrating the victory of gun-loving Conor Lamb in the Pennsylvania special election. What would those student gun control protestors say if they knew about that?

What has barely been mentioned over the past few weeks, however, is the fact that Lamb ran as a something of a poster boy for the NRA.

One of Lamb’s campaign ads, for example, showed him firing a scary looking assault weapon while the voice over touted his Marine background and said he “still loves to shoot.” read more

Students Should Blame School District for Unsafe Conditions

from Michelle Malkin:

Look homeward, “change agents:” My #nationalwalkoutday message

Here is my homework assignment for all the fist-clenching, gun control-demanding teenagers walking out of classrooms this week (and next week and next month) to protest school shootings:

Ask not what the rest of the country can do for your local school’s safety; ask what your local school boards and superintendents have been failing to do for you.

Chances are, the adults closest to you — those most directly responsible for your security — have been shirking their primary duties, squandering scarce resources and deflecting blame. read more

The Self Imposed Exile of Christianity

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Scroll Down for Audio Version

A few days ago, a friend sent my an article explaining the grim fate of traditional Christianity in Great Britain, as seen through the eyes of “Rev. Peter Sanlon, a young vicar in the Evangelical wing of the Church of England.”

Sanlon argues that, “What British Christians are living with today, American Christians will almost certainly be living with tomorrow,” and adds that being, “Christians in the West today is a lot like passengers on the Titanic – refusing to believe that the ship is sinking.”

But the Christian ship is fast taking on water, as it dilutes its message and core beliefs in an effort to attract, or merely conform to the secular norms of the day. The mantra of, “We must be more inclusive,” are like gaping holes in sides of the Christian Titanic. “The iceberg that has ripped open the Church is composed of not frozen water, but three things. Radical sexual gender ideologies, Islam and governments’ totalitarian instincts.”

He sees the folly in compromise of ones values and core beliefs, while many insist that it will do no harm to give a little. Or even compromise by omission, as in: “… one Church of England bishop told me that he ‘personally believed the Bible’s teaching on sexuality – but I can’t say so in public for fear of upsetting people.’” Yet it is we that believe in those teachings who are mocked like so many Chicken Littles when we posit the “slippery slope” argument. read more

Huckabee Resigns from CMA Board

Although I’m not a big Mike Huckabee fan , good for him for resigning his position.

from Conservative Tribune:

Huckabee’s Resignation Letter From CMA

Will Have His Haters Even More Ticked Off

Mike Huckabee just showed country music what class really looks like.

The former Arkansas governor, two-time GOP presidential contender, and protective father of White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was already a lightning rod for the fury of the left because of the accomplishments of a lifetime.

But when he stepped down Thursday from the Country Music Foundation Association’s board of directors after backlash from some industry loudmouths who objected to his conservative views, Huckabee had to have infuriated his critics even more by proving he has two things the liberals who infest the entertainment industry in America never will — a rock-solid belief in his own convictions, and the courage to carry them out. read more

NWA has a New Meaning on College Campus

NWA used to mean something else.

Ni**az Wit Attitudes

Now:

from Campus Reform:

Texas students launch ‘No Whites Allowed’ magazine

  • A group of students at the University of Texas, San Antonio plans to start publishing a “No Whites Allowed” (NWA) magazine.
  • White people are welcome to attend the launch party Thursday night, but while their support is “appreciated,” the founders insist that “it’s a zine for QPOC and by QPOC [queer persons of color].”

Weapons Ban Didn’t Work Last Time

from IBD:

We Banned Assault Weapons Before … And It Didn’t Work

Maybe they are too young to know, or have faulty memories, but whatever the reason, all those pushing for a ban on “assault weapons” in the wake of the Florida school shooting ignore the fact that the last time the country imposed such a ban it failed to make a measurable difference.

Gun control advocates were ecstatic when President Trump appeared to support a ban on “semi-automatic assault weapons.” The White House later issued a statement that he still opposes a ban.

Nevertheless, Democrats have already introduced two bills that would outlaw the sale of weapons like the AR-15, based mainly on various cosmetic features of the guns, and limit the size of magazines allowed. And the press has been playing up the issue with relentless fervor. read more
