Video Podcast – The Problem with the 24 Hour News Cycle

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Every hour of every day has to be filled with new content, because the average reader has the attention span of a three year old. Case in point:

This is from Yahoo News:

“A 34-year-old Louisiana teacher is accused of raping her 10-year-old male student.”

But is it true? It may be, but so far the incident has just been alleged, and not been verified. But what if isn’t true. Her mugshot has already been all over the internet. If the allegation is false, where does she go to get her reputation back? The internet is replete with false allegations which have ruined lives, mainly due to the alleged perpetrator being tried and convicted in the court of public opinion. read more

Joe Biden’s Apology Tour Begins with a History Rewrite

from the Federalist:

Joe Biden Should Apologize To Clarence Thomas, Not To Anita Hill

History becomes myth, myths become legends, and legends become unquestionable. And if a biased media is writing the story, even dubious tales can turn into unassailable “fact” with the right combination of narrative and time. This has been the case with Anita Hill.

Hill’s testimony alleging that Clarence Thomas, then a nominee for the Supreme Court, repeatedly harassed her in the workplace made for explosive politics back in 1991. It’s reemerging as an issue in 2019 thanks to the new presidential candidacy of Joe Biden. As senator, Biden chaired the Judiciary Committee, and in the eyes of the Democratic voters he hopes to court, he permitted too many tough questions attempting to ascertain the truth from Hill. read more

Special Rights for Special Students

On their website, GLAAD, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, states clearly that, ” Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people want equal rights, not special rights.”

Scottish Rite Dormitory

Oh really. Tell that to the majority of young women who live at the Scottish Rite Dormitory at the University of Texas-Austin Campus.

from the College Fix:

Is this dorm giving homosexual students special privileges?

Settlement suggests that same-sex partners can stay overnight, but not heterosexuals read more

Heather Mac Donald Speaks out Against The Delusion of Diversity

There is no more delusional a place than the modern day college campus, and no more delusional group than the students who attend. We can find examples of this every day at sites like the College Fix and Campus Reform. Woke students, privileged enough to attend elite Universities, are triggered in to melt down and often violence at the mere mention of anything they don’t agree with or can’t fully embrace.

Peter Robinson of Fox Nation interviews Heather Mac Donald regarding her new book, The Delusion of Diversity, her experiences with college student ne’er-do-wells, and the faculty and staff who pander to their immaturity.

Marvel Studio to Ruin the Super Hero Franchise

Fresh out of Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig, the next crop of marvel Super Heroes will be gay and overweight. After a long string of can’t miss box office smashes, it seems Marvel Studio’s new goal is to go from first to worst. can’t wait to see Kevin James in spandex and a cape.

from NewsBusters:

Marvel President: Movies Will Go ‘Inclusive,’ Adding ‘Gay’ and ‘Body Positive’ Heroes

Phase II of the Marvel comic book cinematic universe is going to involve a few less of our classic superheros in favor of a bold new array of diverse and inclusive characters. Yes, Marvel’s going a lot more ethnic, and a lot more gay because what’s cooler than finding out that your new favorite Avenger enjoys his skintight latex suit for far more than just crime-fighting purposes? read more

When is a Baby not a Baby?

I wonder if anyone asked the Boston College student, in the following article, if she just happened to be the great granddaughter of Josef Mengele. It does sound like something he would say while “experimenting” on prisoners at Auschwitz.

‘It’s not a baby’: Student says a baby born alive after a botched abortion should not receive medical care

During a recent event sponsored by Boston College’s Pro-Life Club, a female student stood in front of a microphone and said a baby born alive during a botched abortion should not receive medical care — and, in fact, isn’t a baby at all, LifeNews said. read more

It’s Unfair to Judge the Past Through a Modern Day Lens

We in America have developed a nasty habit of judging past events with present day standards. This is a big mistake. And a bigger mistake is the judgment of individuals who’ve contributed so much, just because they had one indiscretion, or worse, a perceived indiscretion.

In both New York City and Philadelphia, the iconic singer Kate Smith is being erased from history.

After it was uncovered that Smith, “sang racially insensitive songs in the early 1930s,” the New York Yankees pulled Smith’s famous rendition of “God Bless America,” from their song rotation. The NHL team, the Philadelphia Flyers, had a statue of her torn down and hauled away for the same reason. They have also ditched the song. read more

Georgetown Students Go All In on Reparations

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Heading into the next presidential extravaganza, one of the many potential ultra-progressive platform items is reparations for slavery. Many leftist candidates like Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Robert Francis O’Rourke, Corey Booker, etc., have either signed on or are considering an endorsement of it.

So popular has it become that a few days ago, CNN dedicated a full one third of its home page to various articles regarding reparations.

And it’s not just grabbing the attention of democrat politicians, clamoring for relevancy, but has naturally taken hold of the skulls full of mush (h/t: Rush Limbaugh) on college campuses. Surprising, I know, that “woke” college students would sign onto a program that takes money from one and distributes it to another.

Isn’t it interesting that the same student bodies across the nation, are on one hand, trying to erase this era of our history by ridding us of everything Confederate, and on the other, trying to keep it alive by continually revisiting slavery. It’s as if they want it both ways. Oh that’s right – they’re leftists, and leftists always want it both ways. read more

Thank Goodness for the British Muslim Community

I know it’s wrong to, but I am loving this. And I would love to have been a fly on the wall when the tortured decision was made by the ultra-progressives in the U.K. to end a program they celebrated. What am I referring to? Well, read on to find out – and enjoy as I did.

from the Federalist:

Feminists Couldn’t Get Trans Ideology Out Of UK Public Schools, But Muslims Did

In the United Kingdom, where the LGBT+ agenda is well entrenched in the school system, there have been protests from the Muslim population against these so-called teachings of tolerance. In Birmingham, a program called No Outsiders, organized by Andrew Moffatt, has been on the curriculum to teach students as young as five the ins and outs of same-sex families, inclusivity, and diversity.

Moffatt, who is deputy head teacher at Parkfield Community School, developed the program “to ensure future younger generations learn about acceptance and respect of others.” While that’s a rather non-offensive ethos, what sowed tensions in the community was the introduction of LGBT+ content in the program. read more

Google’s Call-Out Culture Hearkens back To Mao’s Cultural Revolution

from the American Spectator:

Google Bigots and the High-Tech Lynching of Kay James

Friday, at four o’clock in the afternoon.

Kay Cole James, the president of the Heritage Foundation, steps to the podium of the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference in suburban Harrisburg and gives the startling update.

Ms. James, at a laughing, self-admitted 70 and famously one of the best known, longtime conservative leaders in the country, announces to the PLC crowd (the PLC is the Pennsylvania version of CPAC and was celebrating its 30th anniversary) that this was her first public comment since she had learned only hours earlier that she had been removed as a recent appointee to Google’s Advanced Technology External Advisory Council. The board, on which she would have served without salary, was designed to review artificial intelligence ethics. read more
